TK 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2005 Took off Kansai... Kobe is North West of kansai. It is so close, the airspace will be congested in the future...
Walter Sim 1 Report post Posted October 31, 2005 wow, i heard that that airport is sinking by year, what will happen? will it eventually sink?
TK 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2005 does the world sink too.... polar ice melts... Super engineering by the Japanese...it sinks...example kansai....the main structure is standing on a "jack"...it lift the whole building as the base sinks...little by little... Dont know about Kobe...
Denny Yen 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2005 It does sink. However, they have a jack system build underneath the terminal building to compensate this. The system is computer controlled and is adjusted on weekly basis. The Japanese are so confident about this that they are now building a second rwy. Once completed, KIX will have 2 rwys: 1 for t.o. and the other for landing. The 2nd rwy will be linked by 2 bridges to the original KIX "island". KIX is an engineering feat in itself and was feature on Discovery Channel's super-structures considering that it was built right in middle of Japan's typhoon alley, on the Pacific ring of fire. TK 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2005 sorry no break fast yet...did not fasting during flying. Sugar level low...cannot handle 777.... later if something happen...sugar level low...Pilot become slow. Not healthy. took off after seeing Kobe...cloudy on climb out.. But...look closely..see anything...??? Since Wright brothers...flying has been a big thing. People invented so many flying machine ( i would call it )... after many many years of developing, it became the basic shape with all the airliner we see today...2 engines, 4 engines, props...jets..winglets...racked...double deck...jumbo...ER and so on.... we can dine, have the best champagne with carviar...or just "fish or chicken" kind of meal in EY...coffee, beer....peanuts...watch movies, listen to chart toppers, while reading the best book, newspapers and many more things that we as passenger can do.... on the outside...this is how a flying maching looks like at FL390 or 39,000 feet.... enjoy flying....and keep em flying.... Delwin A 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2005 I noticed there is an a/c on the first photo(is it an a/c? Coz I saw something which looks like a contrail)
TK 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2005 first photo, YES...the contrail of an aircraft, as it get closer...its ANA 747-400D. No, APU off...that middle contrail is water. Outside temperature is minus 50 to minus 58 depending on the level we are flying. what underneath our comfortable seats are cables and also water pipes and aircond duct. as water is freeze up and also the aircond duct creates condensation on the pipes, creating water droplets, so it has some kind of small drain all around the plane. we wash our hands in the toilet...cabin crew drain the water in the galley area, so this sort of plumbing goes through a special pipes...then it is heated. as we fly....it just drain along at this high altitude.
