TK 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 Runway look short....yeah at this angle. But the big boys landed here with no problem... I was with Azman on my departure day (21st May), when he confirm with me the night before of Heliconia arrival BUT weather was really sucks!!!! (Had to shoot in manual mode, 1/160s f5 ISO 640!! noise level has been reduced by neat image) this was taken on the morning of 20th May. we go back to the Final approach of my arrival on the 19th May... Azman...i dont know where is your house...?? photo too small, as i had strap myself on the jumpseat...bumpy approach with 35knots cross wind!!!

Normally I only use manual when shooting stationary aircraft.

Norman 1 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 TK... Great cockpit in action shots there. Care to share the settings that you managed to get good exposure and details for external and internal... Using fill-in flash?? BTW... ISO640's noise is not that visible, even without NeatImage, isn't it?

mokhzani 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 crosswind landing? Hi TK I love this thread the most. Keep going... BTW is it difficult to point the nose in the right direction while landing and is it dangerous or difficult to land during cross wind? Thanx. Mokhzani
TK 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 I find that, landing during crosswind, cross control or side slip. First you let the plane nose "into" the wind...then on short finals below 200 feet, we start to cross control the airplane. Rudder to align with runway and wing slightly dip or straight and level.... Or at 500 feet and below..starts to cross control...early stabilize. But there are times...as we get lower...wind starts to die down...then we prepare to add or reduce adjustment. This is the time my foot add left or right rudder and either wings level or slight one wing low into the wind.....its all full concentration during this approach... btw..every landing is dangerous.exercise with caution.
