Peter Smith 1 Report post Posted June 23, 2008 TK using Canon...tsk tsk... Was certainly an awesome dinner, 6 nerds chowing down the finest lamb cutlets i've tasted! Please thank Eugene for suggesting it!! The "1313" code was so ATC knows that cheeky MH pilot is flying! 291 POB (ie all but the toilet seats taken!)...yet MH still canning flights... LeeCh, glad to see you remember! Next trip, we're going back..and you've gotta try the lamb. Iggy, Perth has clear blue skies, but is DAMN cold right now

TK 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2008 code 1313 = Transponder, assign code by ATC... This transponder will transmit my data of Height, Speed and Direction into their radar...so they see me in the sky. Transponder is 4 digits of numbers from Zero to Seven (0-7) you wont see transponder code 8888...NEVER...i tried..he he he Faridz......no switch to switch ON or OFF....ND scale. even MH Jumbo doesn't have it. as for the airBUS...first glass cockpit on A310 has scale on it...till A380. S V Choong 4 Report post Posted April 28, 2012 Good one TK, I guess 737 rosters are much easier for family life compared to 777s.
TK 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2012 SV Choong, for the past few years on the 737.... 737 roster are more tighter than time on the 777. I lost weight, early morning flights, short night stops out of stations and Bay of Bengal runs!! 70 hours on the 777 was 4 men crew...long haul + maybe 2 flights 2 men crew like Perth and Hong Kong. 70 hours on the 737 IS i starts the CFM56 engines many more times!!!!! I fly many more sectors (short ones).... It builds experience.

As Capt Nik has said, it is not just about accumulated flying hours. Its also about how many cycles you have done. 737s are the workhorse of many airline fleets. This is where pilots cut their teeth.
