Amsterdam-Schiphol 2008-2013 pictures

Goodday,

A visit to Maastricht for me today (EHBK/MST) and Liege Bierset in Belgium (EHBK/LGG). For both airports a first time.

After 12,5 hours and 744 kilometers I came back home with the next results:

The main target and purpose of drive all the way south: :yahoo:

Another visitor of which I wasnt aware she was there:

Some more shots from MST :)

And a few from Liege Airport just accross the borders in Belgium, a 25-30 mins drive further south.

The first hour no traffic except general aviation, then the first bigger arrival

LGG003.jpg

Then 10 mins later the first departure, one of my targets for 2012 :D

And 5 mins later another one of my targets! I shot her (nose only) in CGK (inside hangar) in 2008 and shot her (tail only) in PVG in 2009, finally the entire plane in LGG in 2012! The next time I hope to get their MD11!

5 mins after the Aviant, another heavy departing :)

Look at the titles on the nose

No active TNT, only 1x BAe 146F landing

thx guys, yeah BQF look nice there! Fresh paint thats what I thought to.

I saw MAS her T7 twice @ AMS the last few weeks. Its nice seeing this bird back, but still feel its bad the 744 is gone :(

Can i say something? i guess i am allowed to say my disappointments since i have at least flown more than 8 times with MAS 747-400 from 2009 to 2011, i flew with Business upper deck and first class before, thanks to the miles ive been accumulating

why on earth that they have scrapped of the 747 400 and downgraded to 777-200 :( :( :(

i am hoping to ride with A380, that was what they planned initially from KUL to AMS with the A380 bird, now all these birds (A380) have been assigned to KUL-London and KUL - Sydney.

They even considered giving the birds to KUL - MELbourne?

how about AMS? When i was on board with 747-400, the business classes always seem full, may be not the 12 seater first class - was twice sitting alone :( and i knew not so economical to ride in first class.

i thought the dutch and i love the 747-400.

also, i knew schipol wasn't ready for the A380 yet, probably in JUN

Thx Flee and Pieter,

The Southern 742 wasnt operating for MAS as the titles do say but for Ethiopian Cargo.

I loved the spot in Liege! Close to the runway and an awesome spot to hear the old classics start their takeoff run/spool up. The sounds of those old GE CF6 engines on the 747 and the DC10, man! I am certainly going back there soon!

The Southern 742 wasnt operating for MAS as the titles do say but for Ethiopian Cargo.

I believe their contract with MASkargo ended last December - and since MASkargo's gotten 4 brand new A330F, they obviously don't see the need for more planes.

why on earth that they have scrapped of the 747 400 and downgraded to 777-200 :( :( :(

Well since MAS was rejected by SkyTeam & with the impending alliance with BA/Oneworld - business sense dictates that the A380 is used on the Kangaroo route.

It could have been a different thing if SkyTeam had accepted MAS...

After so many visits to Amsterdam, I finally had a chance and made an effort to do a proper spotting! A very spotters friendly place. No fence, no 'bulis', no ladder required, short lens is more than enough.

And many thanks to Cornelis for showing me around. Perhaps some day in future, malaysianwings shall host its annual gathering in AMS ;)

Lim Lim, lovely photos and the light there was so good.

Pack some into your 74F and send them back to KUL. We needed the good weather desperately here. :nea:
