Kenneth T 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2008 Change of timetable...good news for BKI spotters here. It shows that Korean tourist are mounting now and i just dont understand why MH had once said they decide to reduce flight frequency from Incheon to BKI. I guess that excuse is baseless except that theirs marketing skill is effective. It's crucial that MH look into its marketing strategy now.

Widebodies are based in KUL so the positioning flights add costs to the route. Unlike KE where the flights originate from their base.Likewise for the Taiwanese Charter flights. Furthermore they have the right aircraft for the mission. I've looked into the economics of operating Charter flights even. Studies also included direct flights for japanese adventureres/divers to Miri, Semporna and Sipadan from Okayama, Fukuoka, Nigata, Sapporo and many other major secondary cities in Japan. We've managed to operate two Diving Tours Charter flights previously but the high costs of positioning flights made sustainability difficult. More that what meets the eye. Comparing MH fares with Korean Air as well as Asiana, MH fares is is always the most expensive at any time of the year. Eithe MAS greedy for more and more profit to meet the targeted profit or simply they are not cost effective. let me know if when 11pm got sunlight.Ure hardcore spotters and u spent time going there also without light, If you read carefully theres a change of flight schedules.... not a suprise for us here anymore..haha. Eithe MAS greedy for more and more profit to meet the targeted profit or simply they are not cost effective. MH marketing is not only weak but don’t understand what customers want, very often trying to kill two birds with one stone and ended up with lost of two birds. BKI/ICN/BKI block to block time is about 12 hours. Like OZ, MH could have use 734 night stop time to ply this route. Hence, 333 aircraft positioning is not needed. Isaac 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2008 I guess there's lots of korean tourist in KK? Yes. Just how funny that both of the Korean carriers can make this route work but not MAS Sorry, couldn't resist ! Difficult to make money for MH on that route. Widebodies are based in KUL so the positioning flights add costs to the route. Unlike KE where the flights originate from their base.Likewise for the Taiwanese Charter flights. Furthermore they have the right aircraft for the mission. No route seems to work for MAS (metaphorically speaking) By the way guys, KE, OZ and KA/CX roundtrip ticket to USA/Canada from BKI is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than MAS too. Plus a much more flexible schedule than MAS. No plan for KUL or PEN? KE already fly to KUL on a daily basis for a while now while PEN was scrapped of KE map last year (due to poor load i believe).
