Radzi 2 Report post Posted January 20, 2008 Some more pictures from the 19th. "Singapore 3001 call tower 118.5" And the spotters are ready Everybody got their own vantage points. No worry, plenty of space. And here she comes..... Landed on 32L And I got my sideshot. Then it was a mad dash to the departure position. Some went to the road leading to the ladang spot, others went to the spooky spot. I drove all the way in; others parked by the roadside and run in. One of our members was so tired, I was afraid he was going to collapse. Keep on asking, "Water, water, I need water". But he didn't collapse, and managed to recover to shoot the rotation. Early rotation The palm oil plants are getting taller Bye.... And she will be back later in the day. As for me, that's it for today. BTW, here's the shot from the 15th. To share with the world. http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1319336/L/

Azuddin 1 Report post Posted January 20, 2008 (edited) I think I just got lucky today. It's been 3 times I'm trying to see the A380 but never got the chance. But today's the day. Here's what I got. Not really good shot since I'm still trying to get use of the new camera and I was too excited to see the A380. My second time KUL spotting and 1st time encounter with A380. Benny Zheng 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2008 It was nice meeting everyone on Saturday! Probably one of the best trips to KL so far. Some of my pictures of side views since most of the photos here are zoom in and head on. What a pose from Jon. Excited locals.
Vernon 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2008 I woke up at 3.30am on Saturday morning for this event and it was certainly worth it. Thanks to TTT for planning this adventure to KLIA and thanks to all of you whom I met around KLIA. That invigorating run into the Spooky Spot was most rewarding. Each trip that I make to KLIA makes me want to go back again and again. Thanks guys! Spotting the squatters at Observation Hill Fun was had by all Till the next time ... Simon 3 Report post Posted January 20, 2008 Finally i saw the real A380, but it is not at KLIA. It flew over my head when i was golfing, i presume it was a departure to Singapore and within an hour it make a return to KLIA with a much lower altitude. Wow, it was a surprise to spot it in the air in Melaka but unfortunately i got no camera in my hands at that time.
KC Sim 2 Report post Posted January 21, 2008 I heartily agree with Benny that this is probably one of the most fun trip to KUL. After the celebration of Mwings' second birthday last June, I didn't think it was possible to top the experience . . . but we did. Thanks to our most gracious hosts and friends from Malaysia. Having just endured an overnight bus trip from KUL to SIN, and then finding that my MRT ride home had to be disrupted at Tanah Merah Station due to a technical glitch . . . and eventually got home with a bus connection provided by MRT, I still could not help getting online to see the various reports posted since the A380's triple visits per day over the weekend. I have only a few to add - taken from Saturday. Sunday's shots will just have to wait till I catch up on a little rest. Nose-on in the final approach, the A380 definitely looks like a Napoleon Wrasse or the more familiar Luo Han fish, considered by many chinese to be an auspicious fish. Two nose shots - still trying to learn from the great Nose Master Azahan!! With this beautiful Dugong, how could one just stop looking through the viewfinder after it has passed overhead . . . following it through, I caught sight of the KUL tower. Pure good luck and no skills needed. Once again, thanks to all for a great weekend. KC Sim
