flee 5 Report post Posted November 25, 2018 Its the leased frames that airlines are letting go because they cannot sell their owned frames. BA got it right when they said the A380 is a fabulous plane but costs too much to buy. So if lessors are listening, it will be more or less guaranteed to go to the scrapyard unless they reduce lease rates for secondhand aircraft significantly. AF has found it very expensive to update and/or refurbish worn out cabins too. So they are letting them go. Looks like MH has no choice but to just use their fleet for substitute and charter duties.
