flee 5 Report post Posted November 24, 2012 Somebody saw MAS 4th A380 at KLIA today without the BLUE livery. Anyone knows why? MND was spotted in TLS on 20 Nov 2012 without the stickers: http://www.planespotters.net/Aviation_Photos/photo.show?id=332485 Perhaps they will be painting this plane with the oneworld livery in time for the Feb 2013 official joining - so that may be why it was left as it is... Well considering the OW livery consists of "oneworld" billboard titles along where the Malaysia Airlines lettering is painted on, not stuck on, I'm not sure about it, but it can happen I guess. flee 5 Report post Posted November 24, 2012 MAS Commences Twice Daily KL-London Return A380 Operations KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 24 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Airlines (MAS) today commenced the twice daily A380 Kuala Lumpur-London-Kuala Lumpur services with the inaugural daytime flight MH4 departing KL International Airport (KLIA) for the United Kingdom (UK) capital at 10.45 am. In a statement, the national carrier said this double daily was made possible after it received the third and fourth 494-seater A380 aircraft on November 19 and yesterday, respectively. Effective today, the daytime flight MH4 will depart KLIA at 10.45 am daily and arrives at London Heathrow at 4.15 pm the same day. The return flight MH1 departs London daily at 10.00 pm and arrives at KLIA at 6.20 pm the next day. The MH2 departs KLIA at 11.40 pm and arrives in London at 5.50 am the following day. The return flight MH3 departs London at 12.00 noon and arrives at KLIA at 7.25 am the next day. "The double daily A380 service is part of our business plan to win back customers by gradually expanding our fleet with new aircraft featuring state-of-the-art passenger amenities. "Complemented by our award-winning cabin staff, we are confident that such attributes will continue to drive revenue and loads, and our return to profitability," said Group Chief Executive Officer Ahmad Jauhari Yahya. The airline also introduced a special service on the daytime A380 flight for children between the ages of five and 15, aimed at raising awareness of onboard safety in a fun way. It said young passengers will be taken on a tour on the upper and main deck in economy class. "The young ones will be briefed on the A380 aircraft galleys, get a chance to try out the cabin attendants' seats, life jackets and even take a peek at the crew bunk," it added. MAS A380 is the only full service carrier to offer direct services between Malaysia and the UK, said the company, adding the new service has improved its weekly seat capacity by 37 per cent in both directions. MAS is the eighth operator in the world of the new A380 aircraft series, and will receive its remaining two A380 by the first quarter of 2013.

Mohd Suhaimi Fariz 2 Report post Posted November 26, 2012 I was on 9M-MNA yesterday. We made an emergency diversion to BKK at 5am local... Arrived as MH003 at 1050am eventually. More details to follow... Statement from the Ops team: Malaysia Airlines A380 flight MH3/24 November 2012 operating London-Kuala Lumpur was diverted to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport as a safety precaution. The operating captain decided on this diversion as a fuel transfer glitch from the reserve tank of the aircraft was detected during the journey. Malaysia Airlines’ Director of Operations, Capt Izham Ismail clarified, “We diverted the aircraft in the interest of safe flight operations. The aircraft’s main fuel tank was refueled in Bangkok airport to comply with the regulatory authority requirements for standard flight operations. The flight, originally scheduled to arrive KL International Airport at 7.25am finally arrived from Bangkok at 11.00am today. We apologise to passengers of flight MH3 for the inconvenience caused.”

Good for those who feels like flying new planes! CX flies their ageing plane to KUL, and MH flies their moooooore ageing plane! Perhaps by sending new 380 to HKG will attract more passengers to fly MH.

Actually more than the type of aircraft except for the 737 , I ild rather they have more frequency ...that's why I go CX ...so convenient ! The problem with CX is frequency with wide-body. You can't get any better than that. If necessary they could have pass the route to KA if A320/321 would be sufficient.
