[Pieter: Naim! Naim! Let's fly back to our hometown on the firefly!]

Has anyone noticed that FY is slowly expanding its wings ex-SZB??

Things are looking very, very exciting!

that's great news!!! RM9.99 is a bargain.

I thought Firefly only has 2 F50's at the moment. Are they already getting new planes this year to expand ex-SBZ routes??

The government has granted Firefly to fly from SZB to 12 domestic points, does anyone know these points are all in Peninsular Malaysia? I can't recall there are so many airports in the Penisular Malaysia.

I wonder... is MAS planning to phase out or considerably reduce domestic ops from KUL to peninsular destinations, eventually?

I think to answer to youre question ,most probably the flight originated from PEN-LGK-SZB-LGK-PEN.

See also for the flight from KBR.Most probably its PEN-KBR-SZB-KBR-PEN.

Please guys dont hantam me ,its just my 2 cents hypothesis.

I agree with you azmir, PEN - KBR - SZB - KBR - PEN...this is the pattern after i looked at the online schedule, the plane arrive KBR from PEN at 0745H and depart to SZB at 0800H. Same goes with the opposite way.

since FY open the route KBR and LGK from SZB,

they reduce frequently flight from PEN to KUA & Terengganu,

this is temporarily, since they have only 2 F50,

Don't worry Rozhan, i also ask the same question to Datuk Seri Idris Jala about his planning to extend SZB route...

i believe if they didn't extend SZB as Malaysia Second LCCT, they will loss, Maybe MH will reduce just 2-3 daily flight, i sure

i will be happen after 2011. Maybe Datuk Tony will launch new 'war'....

i like to travel via Subang since this airport locate at the center of town and also near UITM Shah Alam....,

anyway depend on people laa... if u like to fly with bigger a/c, just 'naik' AirAsia, if u excited to fly with 'kelip-kelip' just

go to subang.... (zaman kegemilangan subang kini kembali....)

jom teka!!! (let's guess)

1. Penang

2. Kota Bharu

3. Langkawi

4. Terengganu

5. Johor Bahru

6. Kuantan

7. Kota Kinabalu

8. Alor Setar

9. Melaka

10. Ipoh

11. Kuching

12. Labuan

anybody know from where FY get the 3rd F50? borrow from MASWings??????

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 8 (Bernama) -- Firefly Sdn bhd, a wholly- owned subsidiary of Malaysian Airline System Berhad, announced today that it will be flying to Kota Baharu and Langkawi from the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang from Nov 17.

Firefly managing director Eddy Leong said in a statement that the airport was conveniently located for Klang Valley residents.

The Firefly flight from Kota Baharu will depart at 8am and arrive in Subang at 9am. And the one-hour flight to Kota Bharu departs at 9.20am.

As for the Langkawi route, the flight departs from Langkawi at 3pm and leaves Subang at 4.35pm.

The airline will also be adding a third daily flight from Subang to Penang at 12.50pm and from Penang at 11.30am.

Currently, its flights from Penang to Subang depart at 7am and 7pm while return flights to Penang are at 8.20am and 8.50pm.

Leong said the introductory airfare for the two new routes will start at RM9.99 and the bookings are now open for travel period from Nov 17 to March 29 2008.

Firefly, the first community airline launched in April, started operating from the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport on Oct 29 2007.

They gonna get a 3rd F50!? I thought one of their ATR72 is arriving this dec? If they gonna get a 3rd F50 my guess is borrow it from MASwings or lease from other operator. I think there is one abandoned Pelangi F50 outside SZB, unless they wanna repair it, bath her and install the engines.
