(Pieter, TK & Khaled are the first three customers) Lim Lim not ur customer yet. Norman, you are welcome. btw, did you know what is she doing at here? the road condition of here not as good as like west M'sia, so bigger car more preferable by locals, especially for longer distance. Andi C 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2008 Air Force One in WBKK !! (Actually SAM 28000 as the President was not onboard at that time) Taken in Nov2000 (can't remember exact date), when Clinton was attending APEC meeting in Brunei. Got a tip from a friend working in MASKargo the night before, told me a big blue aircraft with "United States of America" title with fighter escort preceeded with a C-5 Galaxy laying all the GSE. Oh My! Oh My! Could it be Air Force One? Stepped on the pedal and reach what is now known as T2 and BEHOLD..... couldn't believe my eyes ! There she was! Not alone! She came with a sister, a Boeing VC137 (B707) (can't see reg) used by Madeleine Albright (Secretary of State) I presumed. Rush back there with my bro at 7am next day and shot this, then was shooed away by a marine with an M-16 pointing at us. Thought I like to share... Opportunities like will never happen again, I think Sorry about the quality, as in those days, only have 35mm film point & shoot, digital cam cost the same as a new car
Samuel Chy 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2008 Nigel, thanks for the extremely rare shot..... she park at T2? Iggy, are you sure this year you will come? B&B?

It was park really close to the gate of what's now the LCCT.
Desmond C 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2008 I really ever witnessed that plane, that time i'm still small. I do know is i saw a lots of cops. Don't know which year, maybe as Andi says, 2000.
Andi C 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2008 (edited) Yes, it was Nov 2000, when Brunei hosted the APEC Summit. Bill Clinton's final year as president. BWN tarmac was too crowded with VIP jets, therefore they (US Air Force) decided to fly their equipment to BKI for layover. And yes, parked at what is now T2/LCCT next to the fuel storage 'tangki'. p/s I still have some more 'rare stuff' @ WBKK to post. So stay tuned Edited January 17, 2008 by Andi C
Samuel Chy 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2008 Andi, keep them coming... hehe... just realize that BKI got so many so many rare stuff before i step into this field. kudos... btw, T2 not a LCCT.

Andi C 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2008 (edited) Singapore Airlines' A340-300, an 'upgrade' of equipment from the usual A310-300 due to high seasonal traffic 2001 Chinese New Year period, I can only recall it was a tuesday, because KA was also operating on that day. As flight# SQ180 from Singapore Assigned to bay#5 I recalled aircraft had to be 're-parked' (salah parking? ) due to misalignment with aerobridge (either due to SQ A340 pilot unfamiliar with WBKK or traffic controller unfamiliar with such aircraft type, for this matter another 'rare' occurence) Rotating, as flight# SQ179 to Singapore Again, sorry for the quality... pre digital camera era.. using 35mm film P&S Edited January 17, 2008 by Andi C
