^^ Oh that's really sad....anyway thanks for your prompt reply smile.gif ....have anyone been harshly told off / chased-off before?

I would love to do spotting but all my spottings currently are limited to the Anjung Tinjau and when I am actually taking a flight. sad.gif

Well.......are we allowed to go on the perimeter road? Or is there anywhere we could do spotting with minimal interfearance from the authorities? unsure.gif

Hahaha.....quite similar to my timing biggrin.gif

I was there from 7pm till 10:30pm. After taking all the 'backside' pics of the A380 from the Anjung Tinjau, I went to Burger King to get a bite before heading out to circle along the Perimeter road at about 9pm.......it was raining so din go out much but managed to stop at the end of the runway to see 5 planes landing hehehehe biggrin.gif

I am going spotting this Thursday morning. Off from Serdang at 9 am.

As I read this thread, I still have questions. I remember there is one day in the week when single runway is in operation. When is it? Is it in the morning and most probably 14R?

Any reccomendation to my trip? Where I can get best traffic and better shots?

Thanks!

Waa ... I really dont know where is this location

Last time at KLIA, my friend and I rent the taxi and ask the driver to sent us at the 'seberang runaway' but never find the way ..

I try to post some pics spotting at KIA Kuching ..

Last time, I was called 'gila ka nanga belon terbang' by people who pass the that road .

Nowadays, there are so many spotters like me ..

Wahh,Really ar,Nizam??

For all MWingers here,'gila ka nangga belon terbang' is a sarawakian malay dialect which means 'Crazy to see aircraft flying'.Note the 'belon'word. Here,in Sarawak 'belon' means Aircraft.

Hi guys,

I am new in this board and I would like to introduce myself. My name is Tamon Takeoka, I am from Germany and I am 22 years of age. I am planing a visit to KUL possibly in September flying in from Japan. Lots of nice pics can be seen on Airliners and I thought about flying there. I have a few questions before I decide to come, would be pleased if you guys can help me out !

1) Traffic amount during daytime. Comparable to SIN,HKG or BKK ? Chance to see the Hibiscus and blue 777 during daytime ?

2) Cargo movements during daytime?

3) Spotting officially allowed or not ?

4) Chances of getting sent away from the known spots - any consequences similar to Dubai ?

5) two runways - meaning both used for landings and takeoffs or seperated ?

these would be some of the questions, thanks in advance for answers and many greets from DUS in Germany

greets

Tamon Takeoka

p.s. my pics at A.net in case you would like to "check" who I am...

Herzlich wilkommen zu Malaysianwings, Tamon ;)

Was in KUL two weeks ago, and let me try to answer your queries as best as I can:

1) daytime traffic much less than SIN, HKG KUL...10pm-12midnight would be a busy period, though

2) lot's of MASKargo flights, with an odd BR, CV, JL and UPS flight

3) as long as you don't 'trespass' fences/signs, they won't bother you...

4) see above: no similarity to DXB experienced :yahoo:

5) 14R/32L out of use currently, so all traffic done on runway 14L/32R...

Enjoy your spotting in KUL :good:

Cheers,

Pieter...

Welcome to MalaysianWings, Tamon..

Pieter has answered most of your question.. Thanks Pieter.. :D

Regarding Hibiscus and Haleconia.. well... its depends..

Pieter wasn't succesful to catch the Blue whale

but the SIN spotters managed to captured all three

within the daylight hours on a Saturday.. :pardon:

Just get in touch with one of us here in KUL

and we're glad to show you around the locations... :D

Hi Norman and Pieter,

thanks alot for the informations. This sounds indeed very good, I will decide to come or not in the next weeks, still can't decide if I chose KUL or HKG...It would be very nice to catch up with you guys at KUL, so I guess the best time to come would be on a weekend ?

thanks and greets from Germany

Tamon Takeoka
