AirAsia X ready for China, Australia

Recommended Posts

Thanks guys...

I continue with the pix in Obs Hill Post here

Norman, can I use one of your AirAsia X A330 picture with information in our local aviation forum?

Yes you may, Hakan

OMG Norman!

Rare catches!!!!

What did he say about the meals?

The meals are similar you'll get in domestic/A320 aircraft

plus extra 'Brahim' beriani, 'what you a call 12" at FL320 hotdog', special rice with standard dishes in a plate etc..

You have to click 'meal' in your online reservation for this

Also you've to click 'Comfort Kit' if you want the blanket, eye cover etc...

which is yours so that you don't have to buy them for your future flights.. :pardon:

Thanks for the pics and the video!! Awesome!! Can't wait for it to start operartions in to Melbourne (albeit, Avalon). Arriving into Avalon should be an interesting experience for the flight crew, given that the airport is in class G airspace (Non-controlled airspace) and the airport currently doesn't have the control tower manned. Hopefully this will change in the future.

Anyway, it's also interesting and nice to see in the video that they read "do'a" on the aircraft of the new A330. :good: Is this done with all new aircraft deliveries in Air Asia? What about for MAS aircraft. Do they read "do'a selamat" for new aircraft arrivals?

(For our non Muslim friends, "do'a" is a 'prayer')

Media in France report the board of Air Asia X would be close in ordering 25 Airbus A350..

More to come ...

"Malaisie - AirAsia X envisage de commander 25 Airbus A350

KUALA LUMPUR, 18 septembre (Reuters) - La compagnie à bas coûts malaisienne AirAsia X a annoncé mardi envisager d'acquérir jusqu'à 25 A350 à Airbus (groupe EADS ).

Le capital d'AirAsia X, compagnie spécialisée dans les vols long-courriers, est détenu à 20% par AirAsia . Virgin Group, propriété de l'homme d'affaires britannique Richard Branson, en possède également 20%./MA"

AirAsia X, as the Malaysian long-distance, low-cost unit is called, is ''thinking of'' buying ''a minimum of 20'' of the Airbus planes, and hasn't ruled out buying Boeing Co.'s 787 aircraft, AirAsia Chief Executive Officer Tony Fernandes told reporters in Sepang, outside Kuala Lumpur today. AirAsia X would go with whoever can deliver the planes first, he added.

Quote:

SEPANG, Malaysia, Sept 18 (Reuters) - AirAsia X, a Malaysian budget long haul carrier that counts British billionaire Richard Branson as a shareholder, is considering buying up to 25 Airbus A350 planes, the airline said on Tuesday.

"The A350 looks very good and that is the most logical choice as we are already on the Airbus, but we are also looking at Boeing," AirAsia X director Tony Fernandes said. "We would be foolish not to."

I read a local newpaper today and it was quoting that AIRASIA is looking for both B787 and A350S as the possible choice to theirs' long haul. Mr Tony Fernandez further added that he is going to SEATTLE to meet BOEING President to the talks. B787 is real but the A350s still doubtful. Thats' what has been reported. Good news for BOEING then. However with the B787 delivery slots which is already full till 2012, nothing is likely to be realised in the ner future too.
