Peter Smith 1 Report post Posted September 28, 2007 Any MalaysianWinger going there on the inaugural flight? I was gonna be on the inaugral out of OOL, however cheapest tix from PER to OOL is $800 return!! Add $600 to get on D72702/2703 and its an expensive trip! I think i'll stick to my original plan for November.

Mohd Azizul Ramli 2 Report post Posted September 28, 2007 All economy seats were taken up in the first 5 minutes! Only XL class seats (which is selling for MYR 1,268) are available on the inaugural flight. And so, I will stick to MH lah.

Mohd Azizul Ramli 2 Report post Posted September 28, 2007 Oh my god! After multiple attempts, I got the MYR 50 one way fare for both the inbound and outbound journey! I never expect this. Just to share, here are what D7 (AirAsia X) charges me: Outbound Trip D7 2702 KUL-OOL, 2 November 2007 Fare - MYR 50 Surcharge, Fees and Taxes - MYR 292 Total - MYR 342 Inbound Trip D7 2703 OOL-KUL, 11 November 2007 Fare - MYR 50 Surcharge, Fees and Taxes - MYR 381 Total - MYR 431 I also opted for the extras: - 2 comfort kits - MYR 40 - 2 advance seat request fee (43D for each trip) - MYR 40 - 2 checked baggage (less than 15 kg) - MYR 40 - 2 meals (Asian meals) - MYR 40 - GoInsure - MYR 49 Therefore, the total cost for my return airfare to OOL is MYR 982. Oh, and I also have to add another AUD 20 for ETA. I also checked on MH's website, the available return airfare to BNE on the same date is MYR 3,802 (W fare). So, it can be said that D7 is MYR 3,000 cheaper than MH! Anyone joining me? Currency Converter

Obviously not Azizul. Did you have problems with paying with the credit card? The first time I managed to get into the system, I used my Enrich CIMB Gold Mastercard to make the payment but it was declined. I tried again using my Citibank Gold Mastercard and it went through. Rozhan 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2007 Great deals there indeed. No doubt a certain '5-Star Airline' will cry foul . Itulah... cekik orang lagi. Now we have a value-for- money alternative.
Azri M. 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2007 The first time I managed to get into the system, I used my Enrich CIMB Gold Mastercard to make the payment but it was declined. I tried again using my Citibank Gold Mastercard and it went through. I tried like 5 different cards, VISA/Mastercards combined. (borrow friends, mum, dad)... all decline.. just risking myself of being blocked.. I dont know what's wrong. My only guess is that the website isnt accustomed to transaction in AUD. Coz my origin is OOL, the price is in AUD. I don't know what to do anymore. Maybe tmrow there wont be any of the AU99 price anymore. sob sob
Mohd Azizul Ramli 2 Report post Posted September 28, 2007 I also opted for the extras:- 2 comfort kits - MYR 40 Aiya, can tapau for me comfort kit or not?? anyway, can request for few set of comfort kit ka? then sell it to us. hoping of too much. After thinking of it, I won't be needing 2 comfort kits, do I? I can use the one purchased on the outbound journey again on the inbound journey. So yes, one 'unused' AirAsia X's inaugural flight comfort kit is for sale/up for grab. Place your bid now. I tried like 5 different cards, VISA/Mastercards combined. (borrow friends, mum, dad)... all decline.. just risking myself of being blocked.. I dont know what's wrong. My only guess is that the website isnt accustomed to transaction in AUD. Maybe try booking using a different PC. Insya Allah you will get through the system.

Keith T 2 Report post Posted September 29, 2007 (edited) Sounds like you could organise an MW Do at Surfers'. Alas no MEL-OOL direct on QF so it'd have to be via SYD to attend the gathering. Edited September 29, 2007 by Keith T

Keith T 2 Report post Posted September 30, 2007 (edited) ...or bit the bullet and fly on Pornstar. Not when there;s no Star Class cabin domestically. If I'm going to go LCC it'd be Vermin since I could pay an extra 60 bucks for access to The Lounge both ways. Then an extra 30 bucks for The Blue Zone. Flying Crapstar, not officially a oneworld member, might result in no Qantas Club access as my oneworld sapphire status is on AA and not QF, so very much dependent on the mood of the lounge dragon. So really, costs of flying DJ (lounge access +blue zone + food) or JQ (jetflex fare + food) vs costs of QF via SYD are similar, and given the advantages of the latter I don't see why I'd go for the LCC options. Plus only 30 SCs away from QFF Gold. But as I can't make it the point is moot. Edited September 30, 2007 by Keith T
Sohai Lim 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2007 hi guys. Then pax will be stranded until the aircraft is ready (like what happened to JQ pax in HNL), or if they charter an aircraft from another airline.
