Peter Smith 1 Report post Posted August 6, 2008 (edited) No probs Kian bro! Glad you got some pics of those birds. VP-CBI is off to the Olympics, lucky people on board, and no just because they're off to the games, its fitted out rather nicely! Very luxurious! I was in such a hurry, I didn't have time to even pull out my phone (which I purposely just upgraded so its got 5mp camera on it) to snap a couple of pics. MIR, yer, Cayman rego means no tax! hahaha. Common place for bizjets to recieve Cayman or Bermudan (VP-Bxx) rego's. Oh, the 2nd 743 killer, also known as A332 VH-EBK due in Melbourne tomorrow on delivery from Toulouse. kianhong 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2008 Some shots from Sunday afternoon. Was at Kew street waiting for the Thai 997 approach, they sent HS-TEE this time. No Royal Barge or Star Alliance. Later on, moved to Gate 4 for some rotation shots. First to greet me was the powerful take off of Singapore 226 (9V-SRN), spotted with revised livery. Two Virgin engaged in a 'Staring game' Big brother taxiing behind small brother. VH-EBX did a L7 intersection take off and lifted off probably a thousand feet before rwy 21 threshold. And what a coincidence again that SQ & MH sent aircrafts that share the last two rego alphabet. Last time, SRE & MRE. Yesterday, SRN & MRN. Malaysian 124's turn. VH-FNC. Ex Air Berlin. Blinky! Yesterday, we had two EK A345s at PER. EK 421 from the night before unable to retract its landing gears after taking off and have to return to PER after trying everything flying at 8000ft. Also spotted was JetStar 'GoRoos' special (VH-VQH). But light was out then, no decent shots. Thanks for viewing.

MIR 2 Report post Posted August 12, 2008 Kian Hong, splendid shots !! Love the 2 virgins 'starring game' Good catch of the 743.. I heard that that QF is replacing those jumbo flights with A332 pretty soon.
kianhong 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2008 I was informed by 3 different person (you know who u are) on 4 occasions regarding the arrival of this special bird. Look like something I must catch, especially for someone who is pretty homesick atm. There I went driving the car out and wondering into PER international in the middle of a cold nite. MASkargo B744F (9M-MPR) I was even questioned by an off-duty federal police officer on what I was doing there, but no beredar. A shot of the 80m tall PER ATC tower before I left. Look like a huge diamond. Thanks for viewing. Cheers.

tsentsan 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2008 Always beautiful shot from that spot at the playground... So close, easy to put lens thru the fence.. and best of all, little interruption if any.
Peter Smith 1 Report post Posted August 14, 2008 (edited) Nice stuff, Kian! I look forward to your C-17 shots from this arvo! Remember to keep an eye out for the 2x An-124s coming to town this weekend. Also A332 VH-EBK has entered service, so at night and lunch time, now common to have 2 A332's in together...an old site we used to always get, but now in new scheme. kianhong 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2008 Some specials that I caught today. Blue Virgin. Move to Gate 4 after hearing so many departures on rwy 06. Even the Singapore 226 Heavy departed on the 2163m rwy. Imagine the climb out!!! At last, the funky Globe Master C-17 landed! Look at the reversed thrust and heat haze! Liam, thanks you for that 0600hrs SMS ... Keep them coming. Emirates sent A340-300 as EK 420. What happened to all the A345, all U/S? Always good to catch an increasing rare QF B737-400 (VH-TJS). An added bonus! Qantas newest B737-800 (VH-VZE), about 7 weeks old. Entered Australia Register 26 June 2008. Moved to the International side for some shot of the C-17 in twilight. Damn the fuel truck... sit there for so long. Can't get a complete shot of this monster. Bump into fellow MWinger, MIR just when I was about to leave. Nice to meet you, MIR!! :drinks: Thanks for viewing.

kianhong 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2008 Today is 'Specials' Day. Singapore 223 came in the form of B777-300. (9V-SYA). Good business for SQ. Qantas 577 which was normally operated by B747-300, is in the form of A330-200 (VH-EBJ) For comparison sake, Qantas 71 to Singapore. New scheme look much slicker n better. Singapore 226's turn. Powerful climb out!!! Rotate! Malaysian 124 (9M-MRC). This is specially dedicated to Uncle Pieter. The ever elegant 'Dutch Lady' (VH-FNA). Never before I notice the "City of Albany" emblem on the nose. I thought I see doubled. Another A332?! No ... no ... It's the first Qantas to be painted in new scheme. (VH-OGD) Saw this Jetstar Special 5 days ago. She is here again!!! :yahoo: Brand new scheme in support of Australia Rugby League team, nicknamed "Kangaroos". Emirates landed minutes before sunset. Thanks for viewing.
