Nice catch of the AN-124 Ruslan, MIR! :drinks:

 

I believe this Ruslan was carrying some heavy stuff for Australia Defence Force. ETD tomorrow 1100LT.

 

I hope someone covers the departure.. provided wx is good hehe.. lets see some Ruslan Rotation :yahoo:

Usually a 'horizontal' take-off and climb, thanks to the 'huge' lift provided by these enormous wings :pardon:

At least, don't expect steep MD-80 climb-angles :p

I have no plan go to YPPH today looking at the crappy weather, but a few of my enthusiastic course mates wanted me to show them around. I'm glad that I went.

Fuuuuh..... very very grateful that u took those MIR, love it alot despite the winter gloom wx. And nope, i guess its not so much of a horizontal take off, I see some ROTATION THERE :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: ... And I guess her destination was KUL,.. check out the shots taken by Capt Radzi... :good:

She was due out 1100 this morning, again ferrying equipment all the way to Rio.

 

WOW all the way to Rio !! I wonder what kind of equipment these Ruslans always pick up from the worlds most isolated city..??? :help:

yup, confirmed by my mate who overflew PER this morning. They were told by Perth Approach to watch out for the departing AN-124.

 

And yours truly was in the Ops room planning a 3 hrs solo flight down south n east. :pardon:
