hello,

Was paxing a training flight doing ILS into YPPH this arvo and we were lucky enough to catch 9M-MRD on the threshold RWY21 ready for departure!! Our ILS for 24 had the amended missed approach procedure of tracking 270 and remaining North of the 21 threshold giving me a spectacular view of this beautiful hibiscus bird in perfect golden sunlight and from an angle rarely seen in Perth!!!!!!

Alas... no camera had i.... cilaka...

Super fine sunny day. Couldn't resist though it's already late in the afternoon.

First up, the shinny 'porn star'.

VH-VQV_YPPH_030508.jpg

Missed the BI baby bus. Saw it landing on rwy 03 while I was driving to the rwy 21 spot.

EK always look good in the sunset light.

Sun was setting when QF 597 from Brisbane landed.

Spotting still going strong even though no light. :pardon:

QF 737-800 in new scheme! :yahoo: :yahoo:

First time catching Network F100 flying, looks good!

Bling-bling...

Finally, the late bird I was waiting for. VH-TGG was late for 1hr 40mins. [iSO 1600]

Nice evening (sunset) shots, Kianhong :drinks:

Weather looks real nice for some photo-shoots there: no 717's passing your lens ?

Not from yesterday evening shots. I believe I heard one or two 717 landed on the shorter rwy 06 ealier. But here's one from the sunny 26 May - VH-NXN with the updated skippy.

And here's one beautiful 'Dutch lady' bathed under the warm glow of sunset.

Shhhh... Whats that 'noise'? ehehehee...

Maybe I need to get a brighter weapon like 5D. :D

Enjoy!

Well at least they have drop down screen, for my 2H40M flight to HKG, they featured a movie...better than MAS...i.e BKI-HKG/CAN, nothing to do at all...keeping my fingers cross, hopefully MAS' B738 comes with IFE!

Was certainly a productive 90mins we had, Kian!

On June 1st, BI moved from 4x weekly 763 services, to what originally was a daily 763 service, however the week prior this was changed to daily A320 (this is a long hop for an A320, similar to TR's 11 weekly flights from Singapore - 4083km vs 3895km). Obviously with just 2 A320's in the fleet, it is expected we'll see the odd A319 on the route, an aircraft which actually copes better as it has longer legs. JQ are touting a PER-KUL A320 service in the future when they fully establish an asian hub in Perth (4124km).

BI flies into PER with their 319?? Godness, thats far! How many hours can that baby fly?

QR is operating A319's to TXL, a 6 hours 25 mins flight

So.....they can operate pretty long trips; LH is using them North-Atlantic, although with reduced seating-capacity...

See CeeBee's picture @ Obs Hill ;)
