Give Jala the boot, says Senators Club

Recommended Posts

SUNGAI PETANI: The Senators’ Club has called for the sacking of Malaysia Airlines managing director Datuk Idris Jala to prevent further “sliding of services” by the national carrier.

Club member Senator Tajulurus Mohd Zain said the government-linked MAS was fast losing its credibility and its services was regressing from “bad to worse.”

“There have been times when flights were cancelled without notification. Sometimes the flights were even postponed.

“Idris should leave,” he told reporters at the Merbok division delegates’ meeting.

“I personally feel MAS is bogged down by an internal problem. This is very serious. It should stop giving technical excuses as this will frighten the people from taking MAS flights,” he said.

Information Minister Datuk Seri Zainuddin Maidin, who is Merbok Information bureau chief, said he was a “victim of bad service” when he and 138 others were delayed during a MAS flight from Kuala Terengganu to Kuala Lumpur on Friday.

“What MAS needs is a very good communicator or public relations personnel to keep passengers informed on delays and cancellation,” he said.

It is the senators who have to be given the boot. They just know how to talk talk talk... I believe Idris Jala has done more good than harm to MAS. Please give him some more time. And to the senators, if you don't like MAS, well there is always AirAsia. Sometime I wonder whether have they flew on AirAsia or not! To Zainuddin Maidin, there is always Transnasional/Konsortium/CepatEkspress buses from Puduraya to Sungai Petani which in near Merbok. Sometimes you ministers should try live like ordinary Malaysian too...

It's amazing how they think MH has gone from bad to worse when MH just won Best Cabin Crew Award.

That because those politicians expect MAS to lay 'red carpet' treatment everytime they want to travel like other typical govt agency when any politician make a visit. It doesn't matter if MAS just won all the awards available & post handsome profit yesterday.

Remind me of Transport minister (either iraq or Afghanistan) who ordered his national airline to cancel regular services & allocate the plane to himself for his transport need. He was sacked after that. Politician always thought they deserve something extra-ordinary benefit even if that mean causing more problem to public. They forget public vote them to that position at the very first place.

Over here, forget about it already. :pardon: This means either Afghanistan or IRaq is actually better than us.

I have a better idea. Why not give Idris a week's worth of paid leave (IMHO, he deserves it) and let them complainants run MAS in the meantime. We'll see if they don't start peeing in their pants.

Yup. they are paid to talk and more talk. and another speculation, there is a political and 'cabling' issue about Idris Jala appointment. most probably one or a few of these so called senators have somebody else in their mind to head MH instead of Idris. somebody that has a 'strong connection' with them. of course to scoop (probably) more money but do not have the guts to revive MH to what it is now. but then, Idris was elected and he had prove what he is worth for. seeing this, they know this is the time 'the-other-person-in-their-favor' to take over MH (less work to do since MH now already on upward motion). so they just look for the slightest opportunity to condemn Idris and giving him the boot so that the-other-person-in-their-favor would get the post. see that... but then again, speculation and the probable cause... ;p

UtusanMalaysia:

Insiden kelewatan terbaru pesawat MAS ini berlaku selepas Menteri Penerangan, Datuk Seri Zainuddin Maidin meminta pihak pengurusan MAS tidak memberikan "alasan lapuk" seperti menghadapi masalah teknikal setiap kali pesawat syarikat itu mengalami kelewatan.

In English, something like this: This latest MAS delay incident happened after Information Minister, Datuk Seri Zainudin Maidin asked MAS management not to give "lame/old reason" such as technical problems everytime MAS having flight delays

Who's the engineer here? MH's engineers or the unreasonably raged senators? what if, may god forbid, something bad happened to one of the aircrafts, who to be blamed? you know they love to point fingers. point to who? Idris again? sheezzz...

If Idris Jala and the management are bad, how do you explain this. It's Skytrax man... :

The Star:

MAS cabin staff are best

SUBANG: Malaysia Airlines won the "World's Best Cabin Staff" award at the World Airlines Award 2007 organised by Skytrax.

MAS took the top position in the 11-month survey, which was conducted between August last year and June. .

The survey is regarded as the primary benchmarking tool for passenger satisfaction levels of airlines throughout the world.

MAS managing director Datuk Idris Jala said he was "very proud of our cabin crew and their outstanding performance".

"Our crew treat our customers as guests in our own home. They are natural, spontaneous, determined and willing to demonstrate the best of Malaysian hospitality.

"This will go a long way in building our brand, customer value and relationship," he added.

Focused on the quality of onboard customer experience, the Skytrax survey also looked at the "soft service" provided, including cabin staff friendliness, enthusiasm and attentiveness, and sincerity as well as consistency in service delivery besides general service efficiency.

The worldwide survey data for the award involved more than 3 million respondents representing over 90 different passenger nationalities.

Skytrax Research of London is the specialist research advisor to the air transport industry. It is an independent organisation with 18 years experience in airline research.

Table should be turned. The senator(s) should get the boot. Do we need people like this to lead our country???...

Last night MH 2598 to MYY was delayed almost 2 hours due to hydraulic leak discovered before departure, and subsequently aircraft was swapped.

Maybe the minister can take the aircraft and fly himself, and take the senators as passangers. Then we don't have to worry about them anymore. Oops, do we need US Navy help in locating large metal pieces on the ocean floor?

That's even worst, those senators will be busy cancelling all MAS contracts & award them to their families. They don't care about running the show. When Jala come back from holiday, he'll be blame again for all the chaos. better don't....

I think Idris Jala has done a lot of good to the national airline which was left in a bad shape by some irresponsible person(s).

Kudos to Jala for a job well done !!!

Well yes Air Asia do also have delay and some even cancel and force people to move to a later flight. Flight from KL to KK for the pass week have more then 4 flight cancel. How I know because all are been board by my friends. AK simple just send you sms mention that your flight have been delay to 1 or 2 hours and as you to board that flight. And alot of us will have a  or :yahoo: it depend on case. For me delay we just treat as a bonus loh (think positively), why I can take more pictures and can hang around at the airport because I like the feel of it. I belive there are alot of guys here also same with me like to hang around at airport to enjoy the moment and take more pictures.

BTW Just a question pop up! MAS delay Idris have to leave, then AK delay should Tony be leave as well.

Yeah flight delay is normal thing and yet everyone don't like it. Even my self I also don't like delay. But for safety reason I rather delay then be sorry.
