Denny Yen 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2007 This Dragon Air A330 was captured in KHH/RCKH without any caption (EXIF data says 2004). The pilots must have had nerves of steel to be able to pull this off. Is this a take-off or landing...can anyone guess?

Gavin Andrew David 6 Report post Posted July 5, 2007 Piano Keys in sight Flaps at landing setting .. hmm Nothing else I suppose But could be a take off , very very very early rotation Provided he can enter the runway way before piano keys
Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted July 5, 2007 My guess is LANDING, however, no full-flaps due to high (cross)winds Quite daring I must say; does anyone know the max. x-wind factor for the A330 ?
Yusoff 1 Report post Posted July 6, 2007 (edited) I say that is an extremely mad landing. not to say darn interesting. reminds me of Kai Tak... Hmm.. if its a take off, it must have been a new experimental Airbus jet using a very advance VSTOL technology for pax aircraft.. wakakakaa... PC Yuen 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2007 Very much of a typical crosswind landing procedure. Could it be 25kts crosswind?

Mohd Yohan 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2007 clearly landing.....but for a crosswind with an angle like that........woah! too much
T Azahan 1 Report post Posted July 12, 2007 last exit shown is 'F'. 'E' to the right so exit 'A' shud be on the right as well but further down. so its landing.
LeeCH 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2007 Requires balls of steel for such a landing. I will probably f****ed it up big time if I was doing it. More often than not, the pressure to straighten the nose will consume all the thoughts and attention and hence forgetting or not enough flare applied. End result?? Plenty of smoke after that. And I am trying to improve, for learning is part of every flight.....
TK 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2007 GO AROUND !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yusoff 1 Report post Posted July 13, 2007 Balls and nerves of steel...Yup, go around is way much better rather than smokes the tyres or anything... or land somewhere else like what happened last time at PEN.
JosQi 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2007 (edited) Is this a photoshop touch-up picture? .....look like - landing. but... the heat after the engine, if extreme cross wind. the smoke/heat after engine doesn't make sense in this way. and the shadow. but in this picture.... we can't see any shadow. except a little part of wing. i guess.. is a photoshop touch-up picture. but the plane is in landing post.
