The grooming rules are the same for MH. As for the uniforms, all the Stewards have the same uniform. The exception is that the In-Flight Supervisor IFS does not use the in-flight jacket (the ugly jacket with the songket lapel). female crew also have same kebaya (green) but female IFS have a kind of purple/blue kebaya. Rank is denoted by the stripes on the name tags. IFS 3 and half, Chief 3, LS 2 and Flight Steward/stewadess 1

My wife's childhood old school friend is living in USA and sent to me some pictures about his flight with SQ from SIN to LAX in two years ago.

IFS has 4 stripes on their name tag and not 3 and a half stripes

It's considered 3 and a half stripes. One stripe is thiner.

WOW, these rules are very strict !!! :o

KLM crew would never accept these stringent ones :p

No difference in uniform colours for KLM crew; stripes will show their rank:

1 stripe - FA

2 stripes - Business Class FA

3 stripes - Assistant Purser

4 stripes - Purser (could be European or ICA, depending on type validation)

FA's are authorized to fly on 3 types within the KLM fleet only !!!

So Uncle Pieter... What are the grooming codes for KLM? I have been twice in KLM Cityhopper....Their F/A are indeed lovely as compared to NWA flights!!

Strangely enough, KLM cityhopper rules are more stringent than the KLM ones

Maybe you like the KLC ones better than the ones with KLM, because they're younger ??

NW F/A's are grannies, esp. the ones flying to Europe: this is because of their bidding system :pardon:

Same with MAS. I know that NWA F/A can work on all mainline aircraft (D9S, 332/333, 744, 319/320 , 752/753). It helps them to save cost.
