Naim 6 Report post Posted April 4, 2007 April 04, 2007 22:01 PM MAS Ranked "5-Star Airline" Again KUALA LUMPUR, April 4 (Bernama) -- National carrier Malaysia Airlines (MAS) has been ranked a "5-Star Airline" again by airline industry research advisors, Skytrax, for excellent service quality and product delivery as well as customer service on long-haul and regional route. In a statement here Wednesday, MAS said the star ranking awards were based on the "total" travel experience an airline delivers to its customers and the friendliness or efficiency of staff on the ground and onboard flights. Skytrax conducted the assessment between November and December 2006. Skytrax chief executive officer, Edward Plaisted, said the ranking was highly exclusive quality award. "This is confirmed by the fact that just three other airlines in the world have achieved this status," he said. Meanwhile, MAS director/chief executive officer, Idris Jala, said the award was a timely recognition of our employees' continuous commitment towards maintaining superior standards in product and services delivery to customers, both in-flight and on ground. -- BERNAMA http://www.bernama.com/bernama/v3/news_lite.php?id=255057

Kenneth T 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2007 I wonder how they manage to gain such recognition by compromising cost against service rendered? MAS employees are probably the most affacted one with lots of complaints made since the turnaround ..hehehe
