EGYPT AIR to KUL

Recommended Posts

into KL?

I HIGHLY doubt that...especially since im forced to carry a backup ticket on MH whenever im flying back to KL because EK, EY and QR are constantly full to the brim...but MH...50+ seats empty..

Yeah. That is what in the news, right ? A newish city that SIN already been serviced by 332/333 for years but KUL is still serving by AB6, feel so "anak tiri". But it i guess it got something to do with the load into KUL. Anyhow, since QR is phasing out these AB6, we'll get the 332 or 333 one day, eventually.

MAS & Egyptair Offer 3 Weekly KL-Cairo Flights

April 15, 2008 17:43 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, April 15 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Airlines (MAS) and EgyptAir have connected Kuala Lumpur and Cairo through their code-share cooperation, ensuring three weekly flights between the two nations.

MAS in a statement here Tuesday, said flights from Kuala Lumpur will depart every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 12.40am and arrive in Cairo at 6.45am (local time).

Flights from Cairo will leave for Kuala Lumpur every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 3.30am (local time) and arrive at 8.40pm.

MAS Commercial director Datuk Rashid Khan said the direct flights to Cairo will be a magnet for tourists as well as businessmen, and that the airline was delighted to code-share with EgyptAir to meet these requests.

He said that over the past two years, MAS has built an extensive network with 25 airline partners - allowing its customers to connect to most destinations worldwide -and they hope to gain incremental value of RM70 to RM100 million this year from this enhanced network.

Moving forward, both airlines are expected to connect more destinations in Malaysia and Egypt.

question is who is operating the flight?

I was just trying to book some flights to Kuala Lumpur with EgyptAir and was surprised to neither find them in the online booking system nor the online schedule...

Have they be cancelled? That would be a pity....

Suspension of route, not cancelled. I think its more of suspension till Oct 2011 if I am not mistaken. The flight was suspended due to the uprising in Egypt last March. <_>

EGYPTAIR resumes Malaysia service from August 2011

As per 21JUN11 GDS timetable and inventory display, EGYPTAIR starting 01AUG11 resumes service to Kuala Lumpur.

However, the flight will operate Cairo – Bangkok – Kuala Lumpur routing, instead of nonstop which operated prior to suspension. At time this post goes to press, the Star Alliance member does not have local traffic rights on Bangkok – Kuala Lumpur sector

Boeing 777-300ER aircraft operates this route on daily basis. Schedule:

MS960 CAI2330 – 1400+1BKK1530+1 – 1840+1KUL 77W D

MS961 KUL2310 – 0020+1BKK0150+1 – 0600+1CAI 77W D

Like in the case of RJ before, the 5th freedom rights between BKK and KUL will be granted eventually. KUL, being a former non stop station is an important port for MS. Anyway, it is great to hear that MS is back, with higher frequency and better aircraft than before. Upon granting the 5th freedom rights, there will be 7 airlines plying the KUL-BKK vv route (MH, AK, TG, FD, LH, RJ and MS)!

When ever USD is favourable to us, MS offers the cheapest connection to Europe...but Cairo being a safe destination or good transit point is another thing one should consider also...hehehe!

First daily with one stop at BKK via 777 then 4 to 5 times weekly non stop via 330.

KUL service is scheduled to operate until 29OCT11. After 30OCT11 is once again CANCELLED even though schedule listing is still there (but not available for reservation because there's no such flight when trying to make a booking).

Also, please copy the link as well if you're going to copy entire article.

MS has received 5th freedom rights for BKK-KUL-BKK but the pricing is not exactly "nice" for locals ... <_<

Y-class is RM 917,- (one-Way ! ) and C-class is RM 1009,- (one-way).

So, if anyone wants to try MS its better to spend additional RM 92,- over the Economy fare and fly in Business Class

They have a K fare for RM276, Q for RM368, H=RM461, M=RM553, B=RM737, Y=RM921 and in business they have Z=RM829, J=RM1013, D=RM1289 and C=RM1566

These are all base fares, without taxes yet. The only thing we can find so far loaded is the B and Z fare which you quoted at RM917 and RM1009 all in respectively.

If those other economy fares become available later (assuming they can be sold locally ex KUL), it won't too bad value, however, the business class fare for sale is already the lowest code they've loaded, and will not likely go lower unless the base fare changes.

You´re right.

There are more booking classes (with resp. fares) but I intentionally referred to the availlable fares since booking classes that are zeroed out are useless for customers

Plus I quoted the prices only incl. taxes since for proper comparison it´s neccessary to show what the passenger has fork out of his pocket in the end... ;)

Wow those are pretty detail fare info... do you by any chance know where to get the base fares for Egypt and Europe ex-KUL? MS is not well known for their service but if they are using the 77W and the fare is right I wouldn't mind giving them a try. Their 77W products seem to be very similar to TK in both J and Y.
