BC Tam 2 Report post Posted January 11, 2011 Thanks for that info Looks like some of the A-4's were brought back unrefurbished from the Californian desert Presumably for scavanging of spares to keep those frames that went into RMAF service flying ?

MIR 2 Report post Posted January 14, 2011 I believe it was involved in some kind of accident. However, its starboard prop is normal.

MIR 2 Report post Posted November 19, 2011 (edited) M29-12, RMAF's last F-5E Tiger in the original 3 tone blue colour scheme. After been stored for almost 7 years inside No.12 Squadron's hangar at Butterworth AFB, M29-12 was transported on a low-loader to KL AFB end of last June. LaurieB 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2012 (edited) Was near Butterworth this morning and managed to catch a SU-30 and Hawk 108 on approach. As you can see, the weather was not good. Quite heavy rain for the Hawk approach. 20120112-IMG_6839 by Janner88, on Flickr 20120112-IMG_6846 by Janner88, on Flickr Sorry for the poor quality. MIR 2 Report post Posted January 12, 2012 Hopefully not a stupid question. What is carried under the Hawk's center pylon? Looks like a SECAPEM aerial target for air-to-air training. CLICK HERE
Norman 1 Report post Posted January 13, 2012 And the gunpod of the SU30 looked just been used... Probably shooting the target drone tagged by Hawk?

MMLim 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2012 The Sidewinders carried by both Hawks are of different versions right? BTW, love the shots.
Mohd Idham 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2012 (edited) Nice pics, thanks for sharing... I think the sidewinders are dummy one... Edited March 23, 2012 by Mohd Idham
Lock SH 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2012 By the look at both Hawks, on the right launcher is certainly equipped with AIM 9 series sidewinder (a real seeker head but a dummy body) and on the left launcher is very similar to the AIS (Air Combat Instrumentation System) pod. Mushrif A 3 Report post Posted March 28, 2012 The Sidewinders carried by both Hawks are of different versions right? BTW, love the shots. My understanding is the one with sharper traingular winglets is -9L version and the one with the rectangular winglets is -9J version. Maybe an expert can explain further the differences. Alan F. 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2012 My understanding is the one with sharper traingular winglets is -9L version and the one with the rectangular winglets is -9J version. Maybe an expert can explain further the differences. Right wing tip is aquisition/training AIM-9 and left wing tip is DRS made ACMI pod (re Aerotree contract).
