Norman 1 Report post Posted June 3, 2010 Wow... nice captures from the Sempang Tower, Usop I was on the other side of the highway, near smart tunnel exit and I missed the Smokey Bandits and the Hawks... Here are the few shots that I managed to get that morning... Nuris... the break from my position.. (hmmm... lamp posts..) Red... Blue... and Yellow... My take of the CN235 with special 52nd Annivesary tail-logo (Excuse the fence, signboard, trees...etc....) and the 'final formation of Cessna 402B'.. (as I made to understand... decomm by year end) and the formation that I've been waiting for... perfect diamond... great flying by the SU30MkM... Mantan on No. 1 there... and after heavy cropped, with No.10 as chase-plane... Wish can be on rear seat of No.10... would be awesome...

MIR 2 Report post Posted July 20, 2010 (edited) Some decommissioned RMAF aircrafts which i photographed last week.. Army Museum, Port Dickson A-4PTM Skyhawk (M32-18) and two Alouette III (M20-23 & M20-26) Canadair Tebuan outside the museum's compound, i believe this aircraft was at MINDEF, Kuala Lumpur before it is brought to Port Dickson. There's also a Caribou next to it. Universiti Putra Malaysia, Serdang Aircraft boneyard ?? Caribou(M21-15), Skyhawks (M32-11 & M32-25) Very sad to see this Skyhawk end up like this There's also RMAF's first Bell 47G between the academic buildings. Simpang Airport (Sungai Besi) The museum's latest display,M20-05. There are now two Alouette III at the RMAF museum, the other one is FM-1316, which is still in terrible condition SME Aero Tiga, Malaysian made trainer aircraft. I guess the whole Aero Tiga fleet have now been decommissioned.. Another Aero Tiga is still in the museum's workshop. The instrument panel is empty. Thanks for viewing Edited July 20, 2010 by MIR
Geoff R. 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2010 MIR Many thanks for posting the museum and UPM photos. When I visited the Army Museum last November the Tebuan was still in the car park and the second Alouette covered in bubble wrap. Geoff

MIR 2 Report post Posted January 10, 2011 The RMAF's Cessna 402B fleet have been decommissioned last month after 35 years of service. Out of eight 402B,one is stored here in Simpang, reported that one will be given to the Air Force College and the remaining 6 are awaiting disposal. I was informed that this Aermacchi MB-339 arrived Simpang on a low loader truck around early August last year. Most of the aircrafts inside the museum's hangar were shifted outside again Whats left inside were only two MD3-160 Aerotigas (M42-01, M42-12) and this Eagle ARV. The Tiger Moth is now stored in a smaller hangar next door.. Thanks for viewing
