Istanbul Ataturk LTBA/IST

Recommended Posts

all pictures taken by Mr.Faruk Oncan. He is really one of professional spotters in Turkey. These pictures taken by him one day before new year. Attention to Malaysia airlines pictures; in the first picture, MH plane landing to rwy24 (rwy24 is shorter than main runways 36R/18L) and in other picture, taking off from 18R because of rwy18L was maintenance.

Hakan,

Thanks for sharing the link: excellent pictures of great airliners, I must admit: he must be using a Bigma, seeing the focal length...

So, no problems spotting and photographing planes at Yesilkoy ???

Would love to go there one weekend this year ;)

Certainly Istanbul is one of the most scenic and spectacular airport for aviation spotting. Both from outside the cockpit and inside as well. Was there around September last year in the Stal Alliance long pencil. Hakan, if you could show me around for spotting, I wouldn't mind to request for a flight to IST via DXB one day.

Hakan,

Thanks for sharing; it's a Fokker 100, however, not a 70 (see the double emergency-exits above the wing) ;)

of course Peter, when summer session comes, spooters will be there. But somethings going wrong in Istanbul. Generally we were waking up snowy or rainy days until last years in this session, but today I used air conditions on my car!!!! I think global weather changes hitted to Istanbul this year, we haven't get serious rain or snow in here and all days are sunny. This shouldn't be, so we are expecting bad weathers in April and May, maybe in June.

I have flown on an A332 on a few occasions, and I did not realize the wingspan was so huge. Nice perspective on the airbus.

Yeah, that's what I love about boarding/departure hall..............I get to see the plane and when I'm inside I still feel like in a tube either on wide/narrowbody................I wish I can see the plane while flying....haha
