MIR 2 Report post Posted July 22, 2008 I also spotted a pair of CJ-6A Nanchangs.. From their website www.fciwa.com : Passengers please note in accordance with the Civil Aviation Safety Authorities Regulations, we are required to inform you of the following: a) the design, manufacture, and airworthiness of the aircraft are not required to meet any standard recognised by CASA; and b. kianhong 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2008 Lucky you MIR! Managed to get the Rutan VariEze. I always wanted to get a shot of this weird looking aircraft flying. Nice selections of photos, especially like the x-wind landing of the C152. Look like gonna tail-strike anytime. PM me when u come over again, haven't been spotting for quite some time in Jandakot. I mean I see/hear these aircrafts almost everyday.

Sanjay Thaker 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2008 Kian Hong, superb contribution to this thread..i loved it, so when are you expected to graduate? Training here at LGK is nothing like that in terms of traffic movements, but we get those gorgeous scenic views of the mystical 99 islands from 3000 ft AMSL. Anyway, back-seating night sorties are always fun arent they.. good luck with ur training, sandeep, not heard from you for some time too...hope you're doing great there! Anyway, back-seating night sorties are always fun arent they.. good luck with ur training, sandeep, not heard from you for some time too...hope you're doing great there! Thanks Sanjay. I am only half way thru, probably another 6-7months to go. Sandeep is no longer here, he went back to SIN city with a CPL/IR. It was supposed to fine weather this morning. But we were greeted by a thick layer of radiation fog and at one point, visibility dropped to only 350m according to the METAR. Wind was variable 5kts and it was as calm as one can get. Classic Wings in the far side as if looking thru a thin veil or soft focus lens. Around 0900LT, the fog thickened until we couldn't see the aircraft just 200m away. NO... I didn't change the saturation of the following picture or edit it into BW. Straight out from the camera, that's how bad it was. My flight had to be push back the afternoon. As if miracle just happened, the thick fog started to lift around 0930LT and formed a thin layer of stratus. Classic Wings DC-3 on the left was being prepared for flight. They will go down to Busselton tomorrow if weather permitting. While they were preflighting the DC-3, we were given permission to hop on it and checked things out. This is my second visits to this lovely bird. Amazing cockpit! Thanks for viewing. Cheers
MIR 2 Report post Posted July 26, 2008 Kian Hong, thanks for sharing !! Truly classic cockpit of the DC-3..amazingly it is still in flying condition ! Perth was super-foggy today..some Skywest and Qantas flights were delayed this morning.

Cephas 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2008 Sorry to hijack a bit. When I was in SYD to get my PPL, one of the days, the fog became really bad till the visibility according to the AWS-ATIS was 150m. The Bowser is less than 100m from where I took this picture. This was taken at Camden.

No Simon, it's just that when the owner was there for preflight, we asked and hop on to give ourself a tour. Thank you for the warm welcome. Seems like GA is a very friendly environment in Australia. People around the airport are all very friendly even if you are from different schools! Miss my days in Australia.

kianhong 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2008 Have seen this Classic Wings flying for a few times, but this is the first time it's caught on camera. Here are the take-off sequence of Jandakot largest resident aircraft - Charlie Whiskey Sierra. Enjoy ! Amazing sounds from the engines btw. Lining up and cleared for take off. Tail wheel's up and kicked some rudder to maintain center line. Airborne ! Used only half the runway. Side profile. Main gears up. Notice the second last bulging window? No ideas what's it for, but would be damn funky o take some aerial shots from there. Cheers. Thanks for viewing.
