Rozhan 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2007 Thanks for the exclusive updates Fairul. Nice to see KUL is expanding. Hope it will not be at the expense of Observation Hill. But then it may create more spotting locations elsewhere.

Fairul 0 Report post Posted March 7, 2007 Fairul, thank you very much for the update. Do keep us posted for the switching of runway ... at the moment..the contractor just completed rectifying problems with the sensor loops at C4 and C5...so now, all AGL works are completed...PAPI/ILS calibration flight took place few days ago...so now we're waiting for the completion of the widening of TWY E3...only then runway 2 will be open for full operation..i will try to get the exact date since the date keep on changing... here's some more update...its like writing weekly report..hehehe EGR Work - few changes have to be made for the existing EGR...so the specialist have to dismantle parts of it and widen it to accomodate the big daddy...schedule to complete next month.. the small thing ( the alien look-alike with four tiny thin legs) will be drilled into the PQC (apron) and it will act as a base for the EGR parts... Building work- carpeting for C17

Gate C17 is almost ready ( passenger level)... .The work for C27 and C37 started few months already. The photos above is the work for C27 hammerhead building. Roszaimy 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2007 Look Like The Nice Kuala Terengganu Airport Expension construction already started.. Already started? Actually almost completed. I've been to the current "crowded" airport twice to pick up a friend of mine. They should begin the exterior painting soon. And it's designed by Raja Bahrin btw (yay!), since I'm quite bored with the copycat design of KLIA in MYY, KCH, BTU, etc.
Roszaimy 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2007 "Paging Tan Sri Ting ....... paging Tan Sri Ting ............. " !! Oh I forgot, this is in Sarawak - the ink on Global Upline's contract probably already dried ! Only this time, they will get the job done in 6 months or less ! LOL, enough oredi lor, he completed MYY, BTU, KCH and recently BKI-T2. A good clean few millions of ringgits of net profit. Ok what? Luckily BKI-T1 not awarded to him. And it's designed by Raja Bahrin btw (yay!), since I'm quite bored with the copycat design of KLIA in MYY, KCH, BTU, etc. Unfortunately they started the wrong way, as usual concentrating on the terminal first. The runway is still short and there is still no ILS for safety.
Edwin Lau 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2007 Unfortunately they started the wrong way, as usual concentrating on the terminal first. The runway is still short and there is still no ILS for safety. But I thought the runway in MYY and BTU has already been completed? Which leaves KCH runway still in progress. Btw.... you mean right now there is no ILS for the KCH runway? is it because of the construction going on?

Radzi 2 Report post Posted March 23, 2007 TGG is the last major airport in Malaysia without ILS. During the past 15 years: Totally new airport: SBW, KLIA, TWU, BTU. Runway lengthening: MYY, SBW, AOR, LGK. ILS addition: LBU, MYY,AOR, KBR (plus at new airports)
BC Tam 2 Report post Posted March 23, 2007 Luckily BKI-T1 not awarded to him. That may or may not be the case, we won't be able to tell until WCT has completed T1 and we have a chance to compare. However, my impression is that T2 is either still facing teething problems or already having problems per se. There was one day when power blackout caused operations to come to a complete halt, no backup power generation. Yesterday saw rainwater pouring out from one corner of the building with drippings from the ceiling at other spots. And the main car park was starting to flood ! Oh dear ! Oh dear ! my friends received an email that contain defect photos from BKI T2....top be honest..the workmanship..very poor ...the contractor (Global Upline SB) managed to complete the terminal way ahead of schedule but at the expensed of the quality....now i start to wonder if they have any QA/QC engineer....
