Wai Hung 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2006 (edited) ive booked an airasia flight AK6358 from Senai, Johor(JHB) to KUL for 24th nov. flight time is 8.55PM... and just now, ive just received a sms from airasia saying that AK6358 has be completely written off, and has been replace by AK6352 which wil be leaving JHB at a much earlier time, 9.25AM... actually ive booked a 4 day holiday package in singapore, so.. if i leave JHB at 9.25am, means the 4th day of my holiday package goes down the drain. ive called airasia customer service just now, and they gave me two choice only, which is to refund, or change my flight. there is no flight from JHB to KUL at the evening already. what i wanted is evening departure.. i need help, out of ideas already... so how?? any solution guys? how bout other airlines? other options? Bad job from AK.....wow, can't believe they gave you that options, suppose they should put you in a hotel and get you the next day flight. Keith T 2 Report post Posted November 19, 2006 (edited) Ask for the refund and get a flight on MH from JHB. Will be much cheaper than SIN, especially if you book into L (ie web booking). I believe it even comes with free bus transfer from some hotel in SIN. The other option is to change your flight to the next day, and ask for AK to pay for one night's hotel stay in JHB as it's an involuntary schedule change. I don't know if LCCs have a policy like this though... but no harm trying. The third option is as Seth pointed out - get a refund and hop on to an express bus to KUL. Exactly what I was thinking: why don't you change it to AK6352/25nov...it will cost you one more night (try to have AK pay for this, as it's their 'fault'), however, you can make use of your full-day vacationing Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Bus timetable should be much more flexible even U can leave from Singapore to KL !!! Just try the bus Like Transtar they have a lot service similar like in fright !! Hi Wai Hung, First of all, really sorry to hear the bad news. Fyi, AirAsia has a sales office in KL Sentral...so unless you are already heading towards the airport tomorrow, you might want to go to the office nearer to KL. Also, express bus is another option. Because when when my family used AirAsia for that same route (JHB-KUL), AK said that one of the flights was canceled and then my family had to use AK6358 instead. Refer to the 2 options they gave you -- Refund or change the flight, basically these are 2 only options you had. You can read through the ticket booking 'terms and conditions' and it's basically written there. Forget about the hotel as they are not going to put you in any hotels in JB (they are LCC, not full service carrier!) since they already have another flight on your original departure date and they gave you the options to change your departure date as well. My advice would be, take the full refund and book yourself on express coach. First coach is pretty good, board the bus from Novena MRT and terminate at Bangsar LRT station, SGD30 one way from Singapore (2.30pm, 4.30pm and 6.30pm) and the whole journey is less than 5 hours. Desmond Loo 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2006 Agree with the express coach. I took the coach last year to KL form SIN and could not believe how pleasurable it was. It was a comfortable journey and the seats were like business class seats. You are also offered a meal after clearing the usual formalities at the border. People always misslead that if the LCC cancels or change flight time then pax will get a hotel or food or drink or anything that make time easy go. That wrong! Because LCC do business that are base on their advantage and not base on pax advantage. This is also lead to what make me disagree that national route should hand in to Air Asia or Fax. People in Sabah and Sarawak quite depend on air transport to travel to each other place for business trip on the same day. Fax or Air Asia is not bound to the need to operate what it needs to operate like MH does last time. They can alter what ever time or cancel what ever they need to make the route profit. They need not care about the social responsibilities that Sabah or Sarawak or even west Malaysia need to travel. Example in season holiday Air Asia ticket can rise almost on par to MH full fare of Y class. But if something likes Wai Hung case happen in season holiday like Chinese New Year pax will be left with the option of refund or change to another flight. Do you think pax at that time want to be refund or change flight time? NO people want that time to fly back to meet family. Wai Hung is lucky that it happen in the way that JB to KL is supported by couch which can be substitute. I had an even worse experience where I bought ticket for my parents from BKI to LBU where first part of is on MH senior citizen ticket and the return is on Air Asia all to be travel on same day. MH flight is on the afternoon and Air Asia return flight is on the evening. I bought those tickets because my parent need to be traveling on the same day thus the combination of those timing is perfect. So same thing happen where Fax sms up and mention that flight cancel for the return leg from LBU to BKI and give option to refund or change timing to early flight which is a day ahead. I told them that my parent not in LBU yet on the day before the flight so how to move forward? So for me do I seam like need to refund or change timing where my parents need to be back on the same day? NO and worse part MH ticket also been purchased and it is not refundable. Which made me angry as they have the right to change time but we have no choice to alter which suitable for us? Travel by sea is not an option as night time there is no more ship to be travel back to BKI. So conclusion is for secure flight do travel on MH as there is still some hope in the way they have other flight time or at lease hotel to stay on if change flight or delay or what ever unless pax are on less budget which no choice but to choose Air Asia. Wai Hung 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2006 (edited) thanks guys for the help just came back .. phew yeah i went up to 1st floor, airasia's office (kinda) and call centre went and find this guy, Mr. AP.. he just said his name is AP... weird~ so finally i decided to cancel the JHB-KUL flight and take a refund. i went back to KL and booked the express bus.. rm66 per person. its called TRANSTAR... single decker bus, taking the SECOND link instead of the causeway like other coach.. i tought of going on KTM but it takes almost 9 hours.. thats very long im not really satisfied with airasia yet by the way.. oh yeah when i was talking with the staff there, tony fernandes came in.. i bet if i make noise he will come and ask whats happening.. when the BOSS came in, all the staff were like.. scared.. lol actually i asked them to provide me accomodation in JHB or sth, and they said their company policy says that its either change flight or refund.. what the heck... nex time i will try lion air, they have flight from KUL-SIN.. their website is down currently, cant even check the fare. so yeah THANKS everyone. edit : oh yeah about AEROLINE, i took it last yr.. the food sucks anyway... but overall the service is good and comfortable Edited November 20, 2006 by Wai Hung Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Wow, Lion do fly from SIN to KUL...........I'm definately don't know about this!!! If I knew, I rather take the plane ride than the bus ride to SIN. On the day Wai Hung travel back, JL is the cheapest option, RM416 on 767, or add another RM3 to ri Sri Lankan on A343. MH offer at RM499 one way.........well, I say still not worth it(2 cents).
