Kwek 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2007 These are excellent shots, can you tell me where they were taken from (how to get there?) am visiting SIN next week. Cheers Hi! These were taken in 2006, since then the entire perimeter was double-fenced and thus it is no longer possible for such shots. Regards, Kwek
Hoe Jyh 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2007 KLM T7s look equally as stunning on the ground too! Here Borobudur is being "spotlit" as she taxiies to her gate

Hoe Jyh 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2007 With absolutely gorgeous sunlight last afternoon, gorgeous subjects would have to appear First up is this Air Bagan A310, XY-AGD. She differs from her sister ship -AGE by the fact that she has wingtip fences. Can't get enough of these cute Airbuses! Next Cathay Pacific sent in a silver bullet B-HMD as CX47. My first time catching a CX silver bullet and very pleased with it! Regular PK-GGG now features additional stickers at the rear promoting the 'e'. Giving me a blink too as she prepares to land after a trip to Vietnam. A delayed arrival by China Cargo MD-11F B-2173. Not that I mind that she's more than 3hrs late to arrive in such nice sunshine. Last but not least, 9V-SQG returns from a test flight with freshly applied new titles. These enlarged titles really look great on the 772!. Looking forward to some more great weather ahead for even more spotting

KC Sim 2 Report post Posted September 23, 2007 I have had a very busy month so far . . . but while the sky is being washed this morning in preparation for another super sunny afternoon, I am taking the opportunity to share some shots from SIN since the start of the month. Firstly, a typical generic shot of Changi with her permanent residents . . . And then a not very common intruder appeared near the flight path of runway 20C on the afternoon of 1 Sep . . . 2 Sep turned out to be a Jumbo-treat for me . . . in less than 20 mins, I got two Jumbos and left as the weather closed in. On 18 Sep, a ceremony was held to welcome Jett8 Airlines Cargo . . . and the airline's sole workhorse was there. On 19 Sep, I had the opportunity to go into the airport to take part in a recce in preparation for photography of the A380 delivery flight. It was a chance to photograph other subjects as they come by, including this home bird against a sunset. And a MegaArk against a familiar landmark. And a Megatop (though the name has now been dropped) climbing out of runway 20C. This was painted in the 50th Anniversary livery a decade ago. Another bird at sunset . . . heading home to Hong Kong. Lufthansa's lightly-loaded B744 heads to Jakarta. And a triple Triple Sevens shot. Always love a triJet and glad to catch EVA Cargo on a sunny afternoon. CAAS had us all fluttering in excitement when its information board shows the arrival of VP-BIB (supposedly a B747F of Air Bridge Cargo) . . . but what turned up was a wee bit smaller than a B747F . . . in the form of VP-BIP. Damn . . . what huge difference a little typo makes. Although e-Travel has been around for some time, it is still quite a novelty at Garuda Indonesia . . . but I am sure none of us are grumbling over the special markings. Very interesting markings indeed. And finally a twice-daily visitor to Changi - the AN-26 of Batam Logistics / Air Glona. You can see the left arm of a crew member in the bubble window . . . would I love to stick a camera into that bubble to photograph the landing or take-off sequence. Norman 1 Report post Posted September 23, 2007 KC... very nice & interesting report on SIN movements... Is that kite being flown near approach to 20C?.. and just love that AN26...
KC Sim 2 Report post Posted September 23, 2007 It isn't a kite . . . goondoo me don't even know what to call it. The guy was hanging from this and surfing on the sea. And it was just to the right of the 20C approach . . . but certainly not high enough to threaten the landing traffic. Just that from my position, it puts both subjects in one picture. KC Sim
kianhong 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2007 (edited) "No kite within the 5km vicinity of aerodrome!!" We had a similar incident at the Beach when Gavin was here. A man was trying to fly his 'gold fish' kite near the approach path, but his 'gold fish' never took off. I believe that's what they call 'kite surfing'? Superb photos from within WSSS, KC. Very nice sunset shots. Edited September 23, 2007 by kianhong
