Singapore Changi Airport Spotting

Recommended Posts

Nice to have met Pieter for a very short session of spotting yesterday morning at the beach :)

Of course, how could one forget the (surprisingly clean) Saudi B743 that came in just before the evening light went off yesterday :D

Kwek,

Thanks once more for all your help and directions to the Changi Beach photo location: have enjoyed taking pictures of airlines not seen at AMS with you, as well as your humoristic remarks :drinks:

Hi Guys,

Thought that I would share a few pix from this morning's sortie to the airport.

Christina Aguilera was in town and she and her entourage used Z-ARL, the Avient DC-10....this was the main target this morning....nailed!

I found a new angle and currently at Changi, like KUL, it is single runway ops. All movements in the morning are from 20R / 02L. Which also means that I can get the SQ B777-300ERs every time they go....and with a closed runway, aircraft are free to make sharp left turns if req.....and 9V-SPP did this for me :clapping:

Enjoy and Cheers!

The Avient was heading to Hong Kong. Sneeze, did you get it?

Andrew

It was leaving to HKG today?

Anyway, wx in HKG was unstable these days, so I didn't plan for spotting.

Sad that I missed this lovely tri-jet

Yep, left here at about 0805, should have arrived in Hong Kong about 1130?

Andrew

Haha, 1130? I was still in dream revising my happy time in KUL.

Would like to share with you the pictures I shot during my short visit to SIN early June...as Kwek has 'published' already many seen by both of us, and lacking his quality, I'll only post some 'different' ones; as Kwek may attest, I've exclaimed a few times about how beautiful the skies/clouds can be there, as proven by the pictures below :pardon:

Soon after arrival at Changi, I was able to shoot this 9V-SQH with the sunrise reflecting so nicely at the big T-storm clouds behind:

Or, how about a nice Changi Beach approach shot of 9V-SRQ:

Lufthansa on finals for 20R:

Followed by "Albert Plesman" from Amsterdam-Schiphol:

No aircraft here, but just take a look at this nicely shaped Hammerhead:

Was extremely happy to nail these two Indian ladies, as they're not to be seen at my home airport:

Nice downpour in the distance as Jetstar is ready to taxi for another flight out of SIN:

Just before leaving SIN on-board EK to CGK, I was able to shoot this nice-looking A330 (remember the grin on my face in Kwek's picture the previous day ?):

A SQ "Queen of the Skies" is struggling to find the threshold for 20R:

Hope, you've enjoyed these 'different' shots :pardon:

Andrew, the SPP shot is WOW ! :clapping:

Must be using a power zoom lens to catch her.

The angle from this spot is really nice, wonder what sort of lens needed for this location ?

Pieter, the last photo of yours must be hard to come by. Good catch!

Yep big lens needed. I had to use my 170-500 Sigma......!! But didn't need to go to full extension, only 400mm ;) (X 1.5 crop factor!!) as 500mm is gets very soft.

Hard work to get the shot, but more than worth it!

Regards

Andrew

Hi Guys,

Was a fun day today....single runway ops gave me some different angles on some usual and unusual visitors. I would like to share them with you:

My first ever pic of Transaero at Singapore!

Qatar decided to bring in a beauty for me!

800a7aci_sin_070707_ltf.jpg

Finally managed to get Jett8.....and lucky to get it on this runway!

8009vjea_sin_070707_ltf.jpg

Got info that an AN124 was in town...and managed to picture it leaving town

800ra82077_sin_070707_ltf.jpg

And last but not least, my fav Singapore Airlines plane, and I really did have to finish with a B777 of 07/07/07 :p

Enjoy and take care!

Andrew
