Jerrold Wu 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2011 14/1 N226G Comco 757-200 One of the two Comco B752s are in Hawaii right now. Probably N226G. Air New Zealand NZ6021 from Christchurch was operated by B767-300ER ZK-NCL with winglets. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v446/dolphinairlines/ZK-NCL_MW.jpg Great, they removed the koru design on the winglets--I guess they weren't joking. Just another blank winglet to stare at. Of late they seem to be coming in quite often. So it's now time to get as many photos of the MH B734s before they disappear! What happened to the GA B733s/B734s/B735s? Do they still fly them into SIN? If not, are there any still flying?
Daniel Tang 0 Report post Posted January 19, 2011 What happened to the GA B733s/B734s/B735s? Do they still fly them into SIN? If not, are there any still flying? SIN is now entirely served by GA's B738s.
KC Sim 2 Report post Posted January 19, 2011 (edited) What a sunny day ... after months of absolutely horrible weather. The morning session produced a few little buses ... beginning with Kingfisher Airlines' and Kingfisher Beer's owner's personal A319CJ VT-VJM. Another small bus in the shape of SEAIR's A319 RP-C4319 ... no stranger to Singapore's skies as it was a former Tiger Airways fleet member. Tiger Airways has in recent months been rather prolific in adding new A320s to its fleet. Its newest additions IS 9V-TAT. Our good fortunes remained intact in the afternoon with a few special arrivals. Transmile Air's MD-11F 9M-TGQ arrived from Subang and immediately proceeded to the premises of SASCO. No doubt it will re-emerge in the livery of a new owner or operator. KLM finally obliged with its Skyteam B777-300ER in good light. Saudi Arabian Airlines has recently added turn-around flights to Singapore using B777-200ERs. ANA's newest B767-200ER with winglets JA620A returned to Singapore. Thai Airways International's afternoon flight was upsized today to a B747-400 ... a newly painted HS-TGG. Vietnam Airlines too jumped on the upsizing bandwagon with a B777-200ER. A little light peeped out two days ago on 17 Jan ... just long enough for me to grab two subjects: First to arrive from Colombo was this B757-200B N226G of Comco. I always have a soft spot for Qatar Airways' B777-200LR ... A7-BBB is today's Oryx doing the run to Singapore and Bali. Hoe Jyh 0 Report post Posted January 19, 2011 Lovely shots there, KC! It was indeed a very productive day with great weather and subjects. VJ Mallya's private A319CJ VT-VJM operated into Changi today as KFR11 from Mumbai in beautiful morning light. Although the Singapore F1 Grand Prix had been staged here for the past 3 years, we had not been able to obtain a decent shot of this aircraft as he tends to come in and leave at odd hours in the night. The nose of the aircraft carries the names of the mogul's 3 children: Sidhartha, Leana and Tanya. Sriwijaya Air B734 PK-CJW with its striking red and blue based livery. Former Transmile M11F 9M-TGQ as TH11 from SZB wearing only the cargo carrier's basic colours and devoid of any titles. Vietnam Airlines also sent their B772ER VN-A142 again as the afternoon flight from Hanoi. The livery simply looks stunning in the mid-afternoon sun on a clean aircraft! Thai Airways provided a very nice surprise by upsizing their afternoon flight to a B747-400. Although HS-TGG is a regular visitor to Changi in recent months, it is great to see this aircraft now being repainted in the airline's new livery. KLM Skyteam B77W PH-BVD as KL835 from Amsterdam. Hope to see you on her this Saturday, Pieter! Thanks for reading!

Hoe Jyh 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2011 20/1 Thursday From Russia with love... Volga Dnepr sent in their stunning IL76TD-90 RA-76952 this morning to kick start another fruitful and enjoyable day of spotting Undoubtedly a timeless classic, the IL76 manages to look masculine with its thick high mounted wings and yet graceful as well with its highly swept wings. Another view of this amazing Russian freighter with its characteristic huge high mounted anhedral wings. The IL76TD-90 version is equipped with modern digital avionics and is powered by Perm PS-90A-76 engines which allows it to be operated into Europe. The F27-Friendship is yet another timeless aviation classic and Asialink's examples are always a great joy to photograph with its striking livery although they operate to Changi on a daily basis. Brunei Royal Flight A342 V8-BKH also popped by Changi during lunchtime today. BBJ VP-BIZ has a unique and rather classy livery. Avient Cargo M11F Z-BVT as SMJ674 from HKG. Love the cute red nose! FedEx M11F N605FE was also photographed returning from an airtest. Thanks for reading!

KC Sim 2 Report post Posted January 20, 2011 What a day this has proven to be ... to be presented with a Russian gift in the form of an IL-76TD of Volga Dnepr with 20th Anniversary markings is as good a start as one could hope for. How much more joy can one ask for ... two exotic MD-11Fs in two days! Today's trijet came from Avient ... totally out of the blue. Must be a load of Chinese New Year goodies from Hong Kong or China. Some familiar subjects in good light too added to the joy of the day. This is the first time I have captured a satisfactory shot of Firefly's ATR72-500 ... the newest addition to the fleet too. A Fokker 27F of Asialink to welcome Pieter who is due to arrive in two days. Another fairly regular but elusive visitor is this Airbus A340-200 from the Brunei Royal Flight. Boeing BBJs are always a joy to watch ... VP-BIZ is a regular sighting at Changi and Seletar Airports. Good things comes in little packages ... such as this Hawker Beechcraft 900XP registered VQ-BPH ... and this private Dassault Falcon 900EX registered LN-AKR. Lets hope the present run of good weather continues for some time. Had another great day spotting with Hoe Jyh. KC Sim

KC Sim 2 Report post Posted January 20, 2011 Yes Pieter ... will capture your plane ... whether it is -BVA, -BVB, -BVC or -BVD. Get a seat on the port side and paste yr face as flat on the window as possible during the landing ... KC
Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted January 21, 2011 KC, Thanks !!! confirmed seat is 42K on right-hand side (which is between flaps and emergency-exit; last cabinsection windowseats were already taken, as well as all seats on A ) Let's see, if I can spot you on the beach or business-park

KC Sim 2 Report post Posted January 21, 2011 Perhaps Kwek or his friends in high places - in the tower - could force a runway change and have KLM landing on 20R. KC
Hoe Jyh 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2011 (edited) 21/1 Friday The weather in the morning did not start off too well but gradually improved throughout the day, allowing us to photograph up till 7pm when the QANTAS Socceroos made her appearance. Turkish Airlines Star Alliance A343 TC-JDLas TK66 from IST. CX sent their B777-300ER B-KPD as CX739 today. The new Hong Kong Airlines flight had been especially challenging to photograph as its often delayed and (coincidentally) happen to arrive at a time when the sun had momentarily disappeared behind the clouds. Thankfully, there was ample afternoon sun when B-LNG made her appearance, with the off white paint scheme and the dirt on the fuselage absorbing much of the available sunlight cast on her! Malaysia Airlines sent their brand new B737-800 9M-MXC as MH605 from KUL this evening. This came as a very huge surprise as the older B738s (9M-MLx series) tend to be deployed on this flight instead. Bombardier Global Express VP-BJI arrived from CGK and sports an attractive livery. British Airways B772ER G-YMMK 'Keep The Flag Flying' as BA15 from LHR. The first QANTAS highlight of the evening was of course VH-OEB with the Come Play special livery as QF6 from FRA. Love those balls painted at the rear of the fuselage! Soaking up the final rays of sun this evening was VH-OJS as QF10 from LHR with its distinctive Socceroos livery. Thanks for reading! KC Sim 2 Report post Posted January 21, 2011 Qantas may have provided the largest aircraft in special livery ... but I clearly remembered that the loudest expressions and joy were released when 9M-MXC appeared!!! That was a moment to savour because it is something we least expected to see so soon. I do not know whether it is a better livery ... but it sure is refreshing. Nice shots Hoe Jyh. Did not have time to process my pictures but you have everything covered! KC

Daniel Tang 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2011 2/2 The first day of beautiful light in SIN after 3 days of non-stop rain (despite a short mid-morning shower). Started off the day with NZ6024 operated by ZK-NBT to HKG. In the afternoon, we had 9M-AFD "All Star" AK A320: Qantas then followed to surprise us with 737 VH-TJY: Thai sends in their old livery 744 HS-TGY as TG413: And finally ended my spotting trip with B-5242, a 737 operating MU7531.
