KLM 772 in good light for Pieter.

Thanks a lot, XuanHao, for the fantastic landing-shot of Quebec-Foxtrot: always amazed by the setting and size of the inner-flaps of a landing 777 :o

Hi! There is no published guide on the spotting locations around Changi for the simple reason that it is not possible to get runway action. There is a double fence around almost the entire perimeter :-(.

We are restricted to approach shots only. This time of the year till Mid Nov should be Runway 20 in use, which is our favoured runway as it is easily accessible by public transport. Changi beach is the location for this. You just need to walk a little east or west, depending on the time of the day. Or you can try the viewing mall at Terminal 1 for some ramp action.

As for the ERP charges, I'm not too sure on this. Can't help you on this - non-driver here. In either case, public transport to Changi Village is easy. Get on the bus from JB to Queen Street. Take a short walk to Bugis. Catch Bus no 2, which has her terminus at Changi Village. Average time from Bugis to Changi Village is about 45 min. Or you can catch the MRT at Bugis to Tanah Merah station and then switch to Bus no 2 from there.

And if your intention is to catch the SQ A380, suggest that you wait till the 29th onwards. That's when she is scheduled to land around 2 pm everyday..... plenty of chances....

thanks kwek

Some catches from the day before:)

It would be a waste not to grab a shot this amazingly clean B-HKU in such nice afternoon sunlight with some nice cloud formation. In addition, she was also ex-SQ (9V-SMV).

B-HKU_MW.jpg

Knowing well that she arrived in rather terrible conditions on her first visit, she made up for it by making a revisit exactly one week later in much better conditions.

B-KPA0_MW.jpg

In addition operating GY18 from Jakarta-Halim is this grand old lady.

Enjoy!

Thai Airways sent their Royal Barge HS-TEK as the morning flight to BKK. Haven't seen her here for a period of time :)

Usual SQ A345 9V-SGB showing what a good rotation is (unlike its larger cousin -SKA earlier on)

And finally UPS B256UP to Mumbai with a M11F :)

A rainy day today . . . normally good for just lounging around, for processing pictures, for sleeping or for just groaning and moaning. But there were quite a few interesting visitors . . . so off I went to see what I could get of them. And here are the hard-won results.

Shenzhen Airlines is probably going to return to operating scheduled flights to Singapore (rumoured to be from Nanning). In the lead-up to it, we have been seeing its senior management coming to SIN - probably for final negotiations. It was some biz-jet yesterday but today, a B737-800 B-2691 was the chosen one.

MW-B-2691-2007-10-30-01Cr-Shenzhen-.jpg

Singapore and Qatar signed seven MOUs in the last couple of days and here in Singapore to witness all these are the Heir Apparent of Qatar and his Prime Minister . . . no prize for guessing rightly who flew in which planes . . .

the Airbus A340-500 A7-HHH . . .

MW-A7-HHH-2007-10-30-02Cr-ROP.jpg

or the A310-300

MW-A7-AFE-2007-10-30-01Cr-nc-ROP.jpg

Now a daily home-coming Queen . . . 9V-SKA returning from Sydney.

Hi, if you are heading to Changi Airport, just take service 36 opposite Parkway Parade and the bus would drop you off in Terminal 1 basment. The trip would take about 20-30mins. To head to Changi Beach for runway 20R arrivals, take service 31 opposite Parkway Parade to Bedok MRT and transfer to service 2 at the same stop. The beach is just a short walk away from Changi Village where it terminates. :drinks:

Probably one of the best toilets in the world :)

9V-SKA_T3toilet_MW.jpg

A more 'normal' view of the whale

9V-SKA_A5_side_MW.jpg

9V-SFM on a late rotation off 20R. Gotta catch them before they are progressively repainted into the new revised livery. :)

Catch these angles and more at the Changi Airport T3 open house from 12 Nov 07 to 09 Dec 07. $1 admission to the transit area & $3 for a 45mins tour. More details available at:- http://www.changiairport.com/t3/openhouse/

Don't take too long...... Open house limited period only. Note that the light is good for the morning session.

If coming, try to steer clear of weekends. There will be a hugh crowd based on past experiences.

S$1 only....cheap cheap.....

Please check the weather first, it's been quite patchy the last week.

Cheers!

Kwek

T3 open house...

For those contemplating photography from the transit hall of T3 during the open house, these are some of the views you can achieve with a 70-200mm lens.

The runway in use switched between 20R and 02L several times in the morning . . . and the weather alternated between a little sunny to absolute pouring rain.

But here's the line-up . . .

A Cathay Pacific A330-300 taxied past T3 enroute to 02L for departure.

MW-B-HLK-2007-11-12-02Cr-TXP.jpg

Air India Express' B737-800 with a beautiful mask on its tail also departed from runway 02L.

MW-VT-AXE-2007-11-12-04Cr-Mask-TXP.jpg

When the runway in use switched to 20R, traffic that has just landed and are going to T1 taxies past you . . . as demonstrated by this Thai AirAsia B737-300.

MW-HS-AAO-2007-11-12-01Cr-TXS.jpg

Each day at 1345hrs, look out for the Big Girl landing . . .

MW-9V-SKA-2007-11-12-01Cr-LDP.jpg

Note that there are some T3 memorabilia on sale - including T-shirts and limited edition Swatch watches.

HoeJyh and all contemplating photography from the toilet . . . while peeing and spotting at the same time, please refrain from the accidental water-canon salute.
