City of Guayaquil

Recommended Posts

Today afternoon I was at BB Salak Tinggi on business and as I passed by KLIA, decided to do impromptu spotting. The sky was turning grey, and as I parked my car on the roadside, suddenly this lady decided to drop from the heaven. :clapping:

131106, 1510hrs. City of Guayaquil, PH-BFG.

Naim, good catch. The weather could have been better.

Today's weather was the worse comparing to last few days.

Hope coming days will be better.

Tell you the truth: this is where she feels best: grey and rainy skies - typical Dutch

Thanks for sharing, Naim, these old-colours are getting more rare nowadays ;)

Thanks, Norman, will do one day, weather permitting. Slithering snakes notwithstanding. B)

Btw, regarding the KLM plane, I find the name 'Guayaquil' curious. It is the largest city in Ecuador, and apart from being KLM's destination, is there anything special between Guayaquil and the Netherlands in general, to deserve the naming of a major plane? I guess Pieter will have to take this one up. :)

This is a nice diagram how vortices are formed at the ends/tips of wings.

I guess for the trail to be seen, there must be compression of sufficient water vapour in the air (by the vortices) to produce the white-ish lines.

Side effect: downwash and upwash regions which can endanger a smaller craft.

Good physics! :good:
