Sneeze Lam 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2006 Some Shot from my half an Hour Spotting Session os Saturday. Oh, what has that G-OBYE happened? And just notice that there are not only one hybird SIA Cargo. except 9V-SFE and 9V-SFH, and more? Also, would like to know if LeeCH and Colin can help to post the planned schedules for these hybird freighters?
Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted November 27, 2006 Oh, what has that G-OBYE happened? And just notice that there are not only one hybird SIA Cargo. except 9V-SFE and 9V-SFH, and more? G-OBYE leased to GA for Hajj operation; still wearing Tui colours, but titles and tail-logo replaced by that of Garuda... SFE and SFH both ex-Great Wall: these are the only ones with the hybrid colours... Sometimes, they also operate on SQ flights to AMS
Ricky Tiong 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2006 You're welcome Uncle Pieter. I've only flown in those 'beast' once on Palmerston North to Wellington route. There is only one (cramped) seat on each side of the cabin. You can see the cockpit too....so I guess the experience can be somewhat like that of the Twin Otters. Ricky, you've got some serious bendy ATR wings there~ We get lots of bendy ATR down here. I'll have more ATR shots for you over time. Okay, refuelling (of photos) time... Another Air New Zealand gang... The younger brother meets the older brothers... The usual Arab dropping by gracefully.... Nose of who? I think you know... With every nose, comes with a tail... Show me the fans... Oh yeah! Tail and winglet combo... More to come...
Ricky Tiong 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2006 (edited) Okay, enough of Air New Zealand bunch for now.... Here are some of my SQ collections... A little fogging up... Speaking of bending wings, the SQ isn't doing too bad here... Notice the vortex over the wing Different spot on a different day... In CHC you get plenty of people stopping by just to watch planes Too bad for an overcast day And a little guy... Wei Liem 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2006 Evening all, as a reponse to Ricky's request, I thought I...too put up a couple of pictures I took from the observation deck on a very hot bbq-ish NZ afternoon. On the plus side, it turned out to be a busy day, so Ricky and I were able to get a variety of airliners in and out of Christchurch airport A different version of what Ricky took on a rather beautiful, sunny day with calm winds :- It looks almost as if the this Jet STAR is 'glued' on a piece of blue paper aye, it would make a good windows background I'd say :- The main event of the afternoon, Qantas really took its time getting here but it was well worth the wait since I managed to capture a nice picture of it approaching landing :- Finally, Air NZ throttling off somewhere, I wished I was on that plane back home to KCH, Malaysia. It's been awhile actually :-
Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted December 1, 2006 Ricky, That tail-winglet shot of EK is just awesome: would make it a nice 'ad' Wei Liem, Thanks for sharing your shots here - they look fantastic

Raj 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2006 Hey Wei Liem, Welcome to Mwings. Nice shots from CHC there man. The Last shot of the Air NZ A320 with the Mountains in the Background is Awesome. Btw, Are u using Photobucket to Upload the images? Ricky, you won't feel lonely no more when u go spotting..
Wei Liem 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2006 Hey all, thanks for all the comments. No I did not use Photobucket, I have never heard of it in fact until Ricky told me all about it - 'It's ok, a common rookie mistake' he laughed. Yes it seems that Ricky has recruited another 'metal tube' observer. Well, it's good to get out once in awhile and get some fresh air or rather fumes from the jet engines ? I'll leave you all with a picture I took awhile ago - just to show you how dull NZ can get when the sun decides to take a day off. Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year
