KC Sim 2 Report post Posted November 10, 2006 Quote: he still noted that, like its parent, AirAsia Indonesia was prohibited from flying to Singapore. The reason Indonesia AirAsia was not granted permission to fly to SIN is founded in the fact that the Indonesian government does not permit LCCs from Singapore to operate to Indonesia. It has absolutely nothing to do with AirAsia . . . or Dato Tony Fernandes or Malaysia or anything else. Valuair was permitted previously because it did not entirely conform to the pure LCC model . . . and for that reason alone, it was not merged into Jetstar. The latter had to maintain Valuair's identity just to be able to continuing operating to Indonesia. Slightly off-topic: Jetstar Asia's planes are beginning to lose the "Asia" part of the title. 9V-JSD has already been photographed spotting Jetstar.com titles. Sanjay Thaker 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2006 Just out of curiousity, is it that only LCC's are not allowed to ply the routes or would the Govt not allow ANY airline to ply the route?
