Tony 1 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Do the planes really get this close you're able to 'take' them with 19/50mm resp. ??? Pieter, This map should make it clear. One can get really close to action at SYD.
Sneeze Lam 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Pieter, This map should make it clear. One can get really close to action at SYD. BTW, Tony, how to raech the famous beach just nearby SYD which located at the left bottom corner of your map? Thanks
Kelvin B 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Great variety in Sydney, Tony. Great shots.. I hope you dont have due assignments or exams when I visit Sydney next time..! Keep the photos coming ya...!
Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Tony, Thanks a lot: makes it a lot clearer for me Maybe we (Sneeze, Kelvin and I) should get together and plan a SYD visit as a group Looks like a fantastic airport for spotting
Tony 1 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Sneeze, That's Brighton-Le-Sands and you can reach there by bus. Might have to change a few buses to get there, but you'll have to then walk a fair bit to get to the old control tower for spotting. Having a car would be great. ----- Thanks Kelvin. Better be quick! I'll be gone by the end of the year and will only be back for graduation some time around May 2007. ----- Pieter, Yeah, SYD airport is 'quite' accessible in terms of spotting. Most importantly, DRIVE because it tends to have runway change from time to time. The last time I was there (another spot), they found a debris on the runway, and switched. We had to drive to another spot to continue with our 'business'. Nonetheless, good fun.
Tony 1 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 (edited) BA744 United Kingdom Virgin, not Very Blue, but OKay For Raj, SV...who else in NZ? Yell out! Sh*tyflyer! A bit of wide-angle effect - bending taxiway Charlie. Any engineers interested in undercarriage of an A330? Dashes are difficult to catch - always taxiing at quick pace. Don't change channel! More to come Edited October 3, 2006 by Tony
Woei Shen 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Wahh.. won't change, won't change. Stick to your channel. *Keep clicking refresh* Nice shot of Dash and Cityliner!

Tony 1 Report post Posted October 4, 2006 Thanks Woei Shen & Sam. Sam, you've been MIA for quite a while, ey? Good to have you back! Raj, SV, and other New Zealanders - pics for you. So many people have been doing nose shots and what you call them, so I tried, with QF 763ER. The bendy Taxiway Charlie again - love it! Undercarriage of B763ER this time. Hehe. Then there was a change in departure runway to 34L & R, and we went to Botany Bay beach, near the old control tower. This is also the spot where Sneeze had been asking about (Brighton Le Sands). And what a surprise! Good mix? You tell me. Coming up next: Sneeze Air~

S V Choong 4 Report post Posted October 5, 2006 (edited) Thats true, all A320s should be with Freedom Air now, or being serviced and operated on behalf of Air NZ by Freedom Air. ZK-OJA is always doing her usual thing across the Tasman ditch What are those horses doing on the sea or lake? Are u kidding me? This is Australia and there are plenty of crocs or alligators in the lake, sharks and sting rays in the sea!! Edited October 5, 2006 by S V Choong

Sneeze Lam 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2006 Sh*tyflyer! Excellent photos We have Cityflyer Airbus in Hong Kong too It can be an "A380" or just "A320", which just cost you from $39-48HKD for a ride.
Tony 1 Report post Posted October 6, 2006 Raj, Couldn't see the 'F' before 'Zeal'. ----- SV, The 'riders' somehow arranged to have horse rides in the water. <_ they don seem to be professional. probably paid joyride or something like that. src="%7B___base_url___%7D/uploads/emoticons/default_pardon.gif" alt=":pardon:"> I was quite surprised to see that when I walked down the beach. ----- Kelvin, I'll see you in KL then. ----- Sneeze, what A320/A380 CityFlyer? Elaborate please? More pics to come, but not at home now (somewhere else, hint hint).

Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted October 6, 2006 Raj, Fabulous landing (or is it a take-off ) shot of Oscar Julliet Alpha The NZ colours look quite 'fashionable' on the A320
Tony 1 Report post Posted October 6, 2006 Excellent shots, Raj. The place where you spotted the NZ 320 is now under some sort of construction and it's more difficult to "access" without ppl noticing. Construction workers usually contact security to get us out of the area before we're done/satisfied. Only exception was when the A380 came to Sydney - it was crowded! I fly with MH, and if it does take off from 34L, it's usually a left turn - belly facing CBD and Harbour. So it's good to see shots like that - although one could get nearer by going on a Harbour Orbits joyflight.
Tony 1 Report post Posted October 7, 2006 Thanks for waiting, here we go again... Sneeze Air heading down to 34L for morning departure. Rolling down 34L Climb! Then came Emirates. Then Jetstar. For some unknown reason, I couldn't get some of my pics working, so expect a delay towards the next posting. Sorry
Tony 1 Report post Posted October 7, 2006 Never mind, I've uploaded the pics again. ImageShack failed me, weirdly. Here are the pics... Air NZ again, landed on 34R, taxied across 34L and used Taxiway Alpha to the gate. Virgin Blue. Not one of the latest ones with PTV though. Frequently spotted QF 763. Tell me if you're sick of them. UA on Taxiway Alpha, leaving for Melbourne. SQ leaving for homebase. More to come...Stay tuned...
