Rozhan 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2012 (edited) I remembered seeing a documentary on the AIA hostage crisis on Crime & Investigation network last year. My late father was one of the negotiators on behalf on the Malaysian gov. Was intially asked to escort (as a guarantee for their safety) the JRA to Libya but was substituted by someone else. I was in school at the time of the incident when suddenly there was a huge presence of police and classes were dismissed immediately. There is an aviation element in this incident. Hope people who were at Subang airport at that time can describe how things were when the JRA boarded the plane etc. What I know snipers were there... "just in case". From what I saw in that documentary - the JAL pilots didn't want to continue to fly to Libya, and the govt. in an effort to get rid of them tried to get MH's pilots to fly the plane, even though they're not type-qualified on the DC-8 that JAL flew. Is that correct? Edited May 2, 2012 by Mohd Suhaimi Fariz

Is that correct? I suspect no one is ever going to verify that even if they are in position to do so At same time, I wonder how they would have gone about selecting which MH pilot to ..... errr 'sacrifice' ? Is that correct? I was not told about that, and obviously too late to ask. It would have been a secret at that time, and perhaps till today. Some people are soooo afraid of the establishment... Nik H. 3 Report post Posted May 3, 2012 It would be very interesting if they do a story on the F27 crash. Flight Operations should shiver if the truth comes out. It happened during the Reign of Terror.

S V Choong 4 Report post Posted May 4, 2012 It would be very interesting if they do a story on the F27 crash. Flight Operations should shiver if the truth comes out. It happened during the Reign of Terror. If you are referring to the Fokker that crashed in TWU, that was a F-50 (9M-MGH) just to be nitpicking?
Waiping 12 Report post Posted May 4, 2012 With the state that our local press is in currently I m not sure we will get the full truth. You may get disappointed if some P&C info were not made available, or worst, fabricated. Take it as an entertainment and nothing more.
