Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted October 12, 2006 Levent, Focus (FKS) are regulars at AMS nowadays, flying commercially but also arriving for maintenance with KLM; even today we had two: N361FC and N362FC... See also my previous posts in 'Flight Logbook' at the 'Top 10 highlights section' (you'll also see your daily TK flights there ) Nice pictures of the new BKK airport: you seem to be able to shot aircraft quite easily/nicely there... Guest Levent Report post Posted October 13, 2006 Here are a few more pics taken on that day. Thai A330 HS-TEL in the Star Alliance livery. Thai A340-500 HS-TLC. Personally I like this A340 most. The -300's engines are too small, while the -600 is too long. The -500 is just right... Qantas 747-400 VH-OJL, arriving from Heathrow just minutes after BA. Mahan Air A310-300 F-OJHH. The US is going to allow spare parts to be sent to Iran for maintenance of GE engines. Pakistan A310-300 AP-BDZ in the new colours... ... and here is the same aircraft in the old colours, taken some years ago in Amsterdam.
Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted October 13, 2006 Pakistan A310-300 AP-BDZ in the new colours... It's what you consider 'new colours': nowadays this is already 'old' as PK has moved to a 'world tails' scheme like BA used to have; looks quite nice on PK
Guest Levent Report post Posted October 13, 2006 Yeah, some airline just keep going. Surely Delta Air Lines must have the record for changing liveries! I personally like the 'old' PIA colours (with the green belly) better. Or the 'newer' colours, but without the Pakistani flag on the tail.

Guest Levent Report post Posted October 15, 2006 Seth, According to NWA's website, they are already operating with the A330-200 from Tokyo to Bangkok. I have never seen the aircraft myself though, as they arrive late in the evening and depart very early in the morning...

Guest Levent Report post Posted December 5, 2006 Hi guys, I went to Suvarnabhumi today to take some pictures of the A380 - it was the Big Bird's first visit to Thailand. Enjoy! After parking on the ramp, they placed a yellow sticker on the plane commemorating the Thai King's 60th anniversary on the throne - similar to the ones on Thai Airways planes. Also note the Thai flag and the King's yellow flag. How do you like my new model?
Seth K 3 Report post Posted December 5, 2006 Wow, excellent shot Levent! I like ur new toy A380 is great under Thai sun, hope this will not be her last visit there Keep more coming.......
Walter Sim 1 Report post Posted December 5, 2006 (edited) love the last pic Levent! haha! Great shots, we really have A380 covered all round. Whats with the paint may i ask, theres this blue stain at the A380 paint in the fuselage. Edited December 5, 2006 by Walter Sim

Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted December 5, 2006 Excellent A380 shot, Levent (esp. #2 shot) Did not know they would operate her to BKK So, they granted you apron-access ?
Kwek 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2006 What a smart move by Airbus to quickly send the A380 to Bangkok, after flag carrier Thai Airways threatened to cancel its order for six of the 555-seat planes and demanded compensation for the delays. The placing of the yellow sticker on the plane commemorating the revered Thai King's 60th anniversary of his accession to the throne plus the King's and Thai flags will probably go a long way to ensure that the deal is still intact. Surely Thai Airways will find it difficult to cancel the deal....

Guest Levent Report post Posted December 5, 2006 Whats with the paint may i ask, theres this blue stain at the A380 paint in the fuselage. You mean the bit near 'A380' on the forward fuselage? No, that's just the shadow of a floodlight, pic was taken in late afternoon facing east. Pieter, no, I didn't have apron access, but some Thai guys working at the airport showed me a nice little spot near the fence bordering the maintenance apron, where I could climb onto some iron 'things' and get these great shots. With a bit of luck, my pics will appear in various aviation magazines in the near future... This was a last-minute surprise visit to BKK - Airbus decided it would be wise to show the plane to one of its customers! It was very hard to find out exactly when the plane would arrive. It will be staying in BKK till Thursday. I wonder whether it will do a demo flight tomorrow?
