Gavin Andrew David 6 Report post Posted June 17, 2006 Wow , I'm surprised that they actually implemented it . Heard about it quite some time back but never knew that they would seriously look into it . I feel its rather dangerous though , but nonetheless , good for spotters . Radzi , Which runway closed ? #1 or #

Norman 1 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 Guys, I've got this from AIP Supplement #09/2006. I'll summarise here for our spotting planning... To aviators... please refer to NOTAM Closure of runways will be in 4 phases. Phase 1: 29th June - 31st Oct '06 Runway 14R/32L will close. Works on northern part of runway from end of 14R till about Charlie7. Partial opening for 14R departures only from 0700 - 1100 daily Expect 320's and 73's to enter runway via Charlie6 and allow backtrack a bit. Phase 2: 1st Nov '06 - 14th Jan '07 Runway 14R/32L will close Works on southern part of runway from end of 32L till about Charlie7 Also partial opening for 32L departures from 0700 - 1100 daily possible from Charlie7 Phase 3: 15th Jan - 10th Apr '07 Runway 14L/32R will close Works on southern part of runway from end of 32R till beyond Alpha5 Partial opening for 32R departures from 0700 - 1100 possible from Alpha6 Phase4: 11th Apr - 27th Jun '07 Runway 14L/32R will close Works on northern end of runway from end of 14L till Alpha5 Partial opening for 14L departures from 0700 - 1100 possible aircraft enter via Charlie6 and backtrack at the most. Some of taxiways will also closed during these periods and taxiing routes for partial runway operations will implemented. These are some info that I have that I think will help our spotters to plan their sessions... However... these plans might change if they find any bugs in them... Will try to update here from time to time...

Maarof Kassim 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2006 I don't want to open a new thread, so might as well join this one. I was doing what I called a mid-week spotting at KLIA on Wednesday 5th July 2006. Here are pics taken from O.....H..... as Chaity called it. AK's latest Airbus AFG Sibling just 2 months older AFE China Airlines Airbus Gulf A340. The first time I shot this one, really! Hello! Maskargo about to go to 14L The same Maskargo in the air MH 744 Last but not least, Saudi 744 Then had to leave O....H.... because the sun was already looking at me. At the same time had to do some bull spotting...
