Yukihiro 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2006 i got a question....why do they send 2 jumbos for two people..as far as i know the americans do that....are the japanese doing it for security reasons too? 20-1101/"Japanese Airforce 002" is stand by backup airplane For returning journey normally going back to home JASDF Chitose AB directly iso Haneda. I think there is about 200pax onboard for JAF001 not only for 2.

Tony 1 Report post Posted June 11, 2006 Standby airplane?! Wao! Is that serious btw? <_ src="%7B___base_url___%7D/uploads/emoticons/default_biggrin.png" alt=":D"> So that was nobody onboard that airplane? I believe it's a standby - just in case the other fails. And I'd say both airplanes are occupied by some number of pax - unsure of course. When the Emperor visits a country, it's not just the Emperor himself, there's also other people who are supposed to take care of him, chefs, security, (doctors as well perhaps?) and etc.
S V Choong 4 Report post Posted June 11, 2006 (edited) So simple, Emperor = Jonathan Kong King = Elvis Presley Dang, should have guessed that one Wonder if the two aircraft always fly in pairs, side by side or one after another Makes me also wonder why we don't have two BBJs I guess the Sultans/PM will just jump on the F-class on any MH flights in case the BBJ M53-01 needs repair?
