flee 5 Report post Posted July 2, 2020 LONDON: The United Kingdom and European Union (EU) have suspended the flight operations of Pakistan's national carrier Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to and from their airports following controversial statement by Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan that nearly 300 PIA pilots have suspected licences. On June 30, the European Union Air Safety Agency (EASA) suspended the authorisation for PIA to operate in Europe for the next six months. Similarly, The UK's Civil Aviation Agency suspended PIA's flight operations from Birmingham, London Heathrow and Manchester effective immediately. flee 5 Report post Posted July 16, 2020 FAA Downgrades Pakistan To IASA Category 2 Rating MIAMI – The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has announced today that it assigned Pakistan a Category 2 rating as the country does not fulfill its International Aviation Safety Assessment (IASA) program standards. FAA’s IASA assessments rely on International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) safety standards and evaluate if a foreign civil aviation meet them. The decision comes a week after the US Department of Transportation (DOT) banned all flights from Pakistan International Airlines (PK) following controversy on fake pilots licenses that has been facing since last month.
