JuliusWong 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2021 (edited) AAX wins restraining order extension https://themalaysianreserve.com/2021/06/18/aax-wins-restraining-order-extension/ KUALA Lumpur High Court yesterday allowed a nine-month extension of the restraining order on 15 of AirAsia X Bhd’s (AAX) creditors over its debt recast proposal, according to court proceedings. AirAsia X asked for the extension so that it can negotiate its proposed restructuring plan with creditors to obtain necessary approval, according to court documents. Travel curbs imposed during the on-going lockdown and some AirAsia X staff members being infected with the virus has made the process challenging, the airline said. JuliusWong 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2021 Malaysia's AirAsia X reports record quarterly loss of USD5.9bn KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's AirAsia X Bhd on Monday posted a record quarterly loss of $5.9 billion, eight times more than a year ago, as a multi-billion-dollar provision to cover debts drove operating costs higher. It was the ninth loss in succession for the airline, an affiliate of AirAsia Group Bhd. The net loss for the April-June period widened to 24.6 billion ringgit (196.7 billion baht), from a 305.2 million ringgit loss a year ago. The airline said it made an accounting provision of 23.8 billion ringgit to its creditors during the quarter as it is in default under the contract terms. https://www.bangkokpost.com/business/2188459/malaysias-airasia-x-reports-record-quarterly-loss-of-5-9bn That is one hefty accounting provision to make. They are glad and lucky that those lessors are accommodative except BOC Aviation, the same lessors aren't very kind to some other airlines, some have been forced to liquidate.
