How full is the apron at KLIA/KLIA2 now with the grounded fleet from MH, AK group and Malindo ?

Same goes to SIN. It must be quite a sight especially with SQ group’s wide bodies.

Not very. Quite surprising. A few A330s and 737s here and there for MH (about 3 days ago). Nothing compared to say HKG where taxiways are shut down to accommodate parked planes (even gates are used for parked planes in the main concourse). But then again, MH has a relatively small fleet to begin with.

Heard thausands of Malaysians in london are on go show on mas check in. I think staying put indoor and abiding uk's restrictive measures is more safe than fighting for a seat back to Malaysia and then somehow getting infected along the way. Lol

I saw MH1 baggage claim 3 days ago - I'd say there are quite a lot of people waiting for bags (relatively speaking). BA canceled their flights (until 31 March) so I'd assume they might have put them on MH or they rebook themselves to MH. There are a lot of go-show but also a lot of no shows. ME3 looks quite empty tho. Problem with UK is that their policy changes every few days and NHS won't be able to deal with the surge of patients if it gets worse.

engines apu and cockpit not even covered... wow
considering the uncertainty of the duration of the time, to ground the airplanes,
they should consider doing that.

The plan is now to consolidate all remaining operation at one terminal, and leave the other three for parking aircraft. If insufficient, they will send them down to Alice Springs, Australia where they are parking their six Silk Air B737Max now.

In Pictures—Airports Begin To Resemble Aircraft Graveyards

https://www.forbes.com/sites/jamesasquith/2020/03/22/in-pictures-airports-start-to-resemble-aircraft-graveyards/#21a8e7cf608c

Very sad and sorry scenes - planes that are not flying.

I was checking the API in KL and PJ and it is a little lower - from around 70 to around 55. I thought that it would be below 50. So stopping traffic and flying still does not reduce pollution enough!

Perhaps because there’s more to pollution than motor vehicles and planes.

I have always thought that our factories pollute more than vehicles and aviation. But our factories are also not going at 100%. So the pollution may be imported...
