Subang (WMSA/SZB) 2019

Recommended Posts

Opeing up SZB thread for 2019.

One has to wonder, how Weststar acquired jets belonging to big US corporations like Trump and Google? This 767 (2-TSSA), belonged to Google at one time

The Chinese carriers are probably out of fresh livery ideas. Lucky Air for example, has the British Airways livery in red and yellow. This China Eastern Airlines Executive Air (B-6186, A318 ACJ), tops it all by adopting USAF gov. jet livery.

Like car, when jet owners upgrade, their old jet will be sold. Ones with $ could engage aircraft broker to search, inspect and take delivery.

Copycat culture is pretty much alive and kicking in China. The new Lucky Air livery appears to be Boeing factory dreamliner livery at the front combined with British Airways logo at the tail. It seems their design is just about copying and adopting others' idea. Cathay Pacific's old livery too - it is so BOAC at the cheatline level.

By the way, I wonder how much it would cost to hire a Weststar 727? :)

Me thinks that particular example has more to do with CX's ownership during that era rather than Chinese 'copycat culture' :D

Very true, but that has culminated the beginning and became a reference of the copycat culture lol....

Plenty of cheatline livery during then. Continental Airlines and Eastern also adopted the design. Much like baggy pants fashion.

After dropping off the Inter Milan FC in Singapore a day before (on 17/7), this Air X Charter came and parked in SZB from 18-21/7. Guessed on of the main reasons is cheaper parking rates.

Surprised to see her diverted to SZB in FR24 around 1725. Probably due weather and wants to save some fuel while landed. She was coming in from KCH as AK5209. Rushed to the airport and managed to photographed just in time for her departure at 1845.

Wow, that was quick - VAA is trying to familiarise itself to its home airports!

The next day, Malaysia's latest boutique airline, Love Fly decided to do an air test from SZB. Thanks for the heads up, KS!

Is M Jets somehow related to MBI group or M Express the courier service company?

This Love Fly outfit still not flying regularly day in day out I believe - and yet there are already 'mascara stains' all over 9M-LOV there ?

Goodness knows what she will end up looking like if and when time get scarce for a quick shower and beauty touch ups
