Cheapest fare found is RM203.99 return excluding debit/credit card fee, food and beverage and luggage charge. An interesting note for BBI: ..."AirAsia was selected through competitive bidding to start operations from Odisha. The state government had invited an Expression of Interest (EoI) from the scheduled air carriers for running flights to destinations in South East Asia like Singapore, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur. To woo the air carriers, the state government had agreed to provide reasonable Viability Gap Funding (VGF) in the form of subsidy grant." jahur 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2017 (edited) Heard that airasia has cancelled the b77w project. Rating cost and long term cost are not efficient. London to be delayed until a350 comes. Group is also studying using a330neo with a onestop in between for a possible earlier launch. Anyone can confirm? Edited March 8, 2017 by jahur
Vicknesh PS 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2017 Yes, heard the B777 plan has been scuttled too.
flee 5 Report post Posted March 9, 2017 If they had gone ahead with it, it will be a repeat of the A343 mistake. I think that it would be easier to reconfigure an A333 with more lie flats (maybe 18) and have a larger quiet zone with 2-4-2 seating. That will reduce the load and perhaps enable it to fly to London direct. If not, it will at least be able to get to Paris or Frankfurt to operate a one stop service. Amirul Mazlan 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2017 They can just get A332 and solve everything. I know its a smaller plane with lesser load but that is better than going for a totally new type

flee 5 Report post Posted March 18, 2017 Competing with GA and NH... What equipment? Did they have enough aircraft at the moment? This would be an Indonesia Airasia X route. They currently have two A330-300's that are leased to AK. This route would relaunch Indonesia Airasia X (which suspended its Australia flights last Sept.) if it is confirmed. Adrian M 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2017 They currently have two A330-300's that are leased to AK. The lease has ended on 16 March 2017, MFM and CMB flights has since returned to A320 fleets. Its been happening for a while now, if anybody noticed there is QZ A320 operating out of KLIA2 doing KUL-JOG-KUL-LOP-KUL-PKU-KUL daily with QZ coded flight and QZ crew based in KUL. Seems like AK is really short of aircraft - they sold a few planes last year to China owned airlines. But I guess that will be fixed this year - we should have a deluge of deliveries of ceos and neos.

Kenneth Chong WT 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2017 AK starting KCH-PNK in June. Not the most exciting of routes. At the moment routes are flown by XN Xpressair of Indonesia. MASwings has long withdrawn from Pontianak.
H C Chai 4 Report post Posted April 4, 2017 Just had a look at the AirAsia website... Looks like they will be flying the route daily and booking is open until early 2018! I wonder how long this daily frequency will last until AK quietly reduces it to 3x or 4x per week, or cancel it altogether...
leon t 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2017 believed air asia x have 5th freedom to pick up passengers from Osaka to Honolulu. But for Malaysians travelling to US, do not see the market expanding much as firstly its not easy to apply a visa to US and be harder from now with its more detailed vetting as mentioned by trump and secondly the cost for a US visa is like rm700 which is alot to pay for a visa. I do not see air asia x flying to honolulu for long.
