Happening weekend when SP departed to Geneva. The weather was 'perfect'

The crowd. All waiting and in position to photograph through and over the fence.

SP rolling. As she is heavy on fuel, she rotated quite late at Rwy15 and had a shallow climb.

Dan lain-lain planes to photograph.

Firefly has stored the ATR 72-600s for a couple of years now. Some were disposed to Nam Air but the rest remain unsold. Recently, two of the stored aircraft performed some test flights. Are they returning to the fleet or are they prepared to be sold?

The Haj charter season has begun and it is so nice to see the B744s again!

Thanks!

Compared to last year's Merdeka flypast, this one was a damp squib!

This morning. AK5135, 9M-AHR, from BKI with 164 POB, diverted here after they made a go-around at KUL. They had 45mins for fuel remaining when they landed at 0800.

eQcSYgF.jpg

Thinking they might have a quick refuel, some of us waited for her departure. After a long long wait, AK9898, 9M-AJW, landed at 1130, with 6 POB. Probably at that time, we thought AHR had gone tech and this was a rescue flight. Cant imagin the passengers had to wait for 3.5 hours in the aircraft.

iXGxRxb.jpg

Not long after, AK5135D departed for KUL at 1220 with 167 POB.

2mOW6lw.jpg

To our surprised, AHR came out for departure as AK9897 with 3 POB not long after. It then made us wonder, what took them so long to refuel and why they need a rescue flight. Further reference later in FR24, AHR continued to BKI.

Bonus. The view if AirAsia were to be based in ZSB

Raya Airways new 'old' 734F (9M-RZA) to replace their aging 727s. This plane was formerly flown by Japan Transocean Air (JA8597, 737-4Q3) and converted into F in Jan17. Reregistered as N122WF.

Is it true Raya retired their 727's in January? How sad. RIP the gangsta. Are they parked at SZB or somewhere else?

Hi Brad. Yup. All retired and 'stored' in SZB. Their role is replaced by their 734F
