2018 Aircraft Deliveries to MAG, AirAsia & AirAsia X Groups & Malindo/Batik Malaysia

Recommended Posts

Is MH going to get more A350? It seems to be very reliable and is the right size for MH.

Right now, MH is in a big mess with pilot shortage - it is particularly acute with B737 crews. So I think fleet planning is now on the back burner.

The A350-900 seems to be the ideal foundation for MAB to revive its business and its network. It is versatile (see how SQ and QR uses them) and has great reliability. It is also easy for A330 crews to convert to the A350. Logically, MAB should order more as the A330 fleet gets old and are retired. Once the airline is on a sound footing, MAB can even consider returning the A380 to regular service!

Should be C38Y262,the original MU layout. XJ took in one recently without complete reconfiguration.

J class is the same as D7 own seat type and 2-2-2 arrangement, economy is slightly different in 2-4-2 layout.

Yes, it is a good possibility but D7 has also mentioned that it is considering a single class high density configuration to be deployed on their China routes.

Maybe, like XJ, this slightly more "luxurious" configuration might be used for its Japanese and/or HNL routes.

All EY config with 367 TOB.

Thanks Nabiel. 367 is hardly high density. Even lower than D7 own A330ceo...Lion Air is pushing 440. Cebu Pacific 436! OMG.... Horror for cabin crews...

I believed they wanted to put 400+- TOB for a better profit but since this lease aircraft comes with different door and only equip with single escape slide, so 2 (D3L&R) doors cant be used during ditching and only 6 doors with slide raft will be used during ditching.

There is a maximum occupants for each rafts so that is why the 367 comes in. Compared to current D7 A330s, all of them equip with dual lane slide rafts for all doors.

Yep I can clearly see what you're referring too know after comparing images of the different door configurations.

As that's the case, surely they'd be best off sending these to TAAX and transferring a standard configuration A333 across, -XBD is going to be more of an orphan in the fleet than -XAA was!

Both r due to receive three used A333's this year. That is why they are in no hurry to make a decision on their Neo order.

9M-RAE also coming soon. Heard RAE will not be a NEO but CEO.

They are taking 29 additional A320 this year, both CEO and NEO. Airbus couldn't deliver fast enough, thus AirAsia has been sourcing from used market. At the same time, they are selling off/retiring some especially those IAE-powered at AirAsia Philippines.

Recent new A320ceo (-AGY -AGZ -RAA -RAC) comes with spaceflex cabin with 186 seats, and it would seems like all A320ceo onwards will also be standard 186 seats.

Took photo of spaceflex cabin recently. Good god how do those crew work with half cabin? Throughout my flight they spent most of the time at galley putting away stuffs into correct cubicles while being interrupted now and then by pax going to look. And the loo is as tight as it can get. Plus sized people take note.....

Holger, we already have a tracking spreadsheet for deliveries (click the link above) but we don't have one for retirements.

However, this thread is about deliveries!

Recent new A320ceo (-AGY -AGZ -RAA -RAC) comes with spaceflex cabin with 186 seats, and it would seems like all A320ceo onwards will also be standard 186 seats.

Standardised production at Airbus, I guess... now, any frame can be fitted with CEO or NEO. That may help to reduce inventory, if NEO engines are delayed.

Use the front toilet if possible! Plus sized people might want to get the FA's to assist and convert the two rear toilets into a single one!

Woah, quite a number of variant.

These are the origin:

377 seats- AirAsia X own fleet. Current configuration: 12J 365Y

367 seats- Should be from China Eastern Airlines, to be reconfigured into 367 seats only due to smaller 3LR door.

Current configuration: C38 262Y

300 seats- from China Eastern Airlines HS-XTG.

Current configuration: C38 262Y

285 seat- from Singapore Airlines?? They are the only one with 30J 255Y configuration in A333 currently.
