flee 5 Report post Posted June 14, 2016 BANGKOK—Thai duty-free operator King Power International Group has bought a controlling stake in the Thai unit of budget carrier AirAsia Bhd. for 7.9 billion baht ($224.5 million). The acquisition represents a new direction for King Power’s founder, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, whose Leicester City Football Club became England’s premier league champions in May. The company so far has built its business around a duty-free concession with Airports of Thailand PCL, which operates six international airports in the kingdom. But with its monopoly expiring five years from now, analysts say King Power is looking for fresh alternative revenue streams, potentially including selling duty-free items on Thai AirAsia flights. Mulyadir Fitri 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2016 Good exposure for the AirAsia brand too. Leicester is the new EPL champs and their stadium is already named King Power Stadium. You can bet that the AirAsia branding will be all over the stadium and the club soon.

Mulyadir Fitri 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2016 How about QPR? QPR is in the Championship, second tier behind the EPL. Last season they finished mid table. Doubt they can secure promotion to the EPL anytime soon. Leicester meanwhile is the current champions of the top tier EPL. More exposure.

Hahaha. Yes. Leicester had a fairytale season. TF is probably already scrutinising everything that they have been doing and will try to replicate them at QPR.
