SS Lee 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2016 Thanks Pieter. PH-KZO just came by and left Penang today. No chance to catch it though. Azahan, you've got very nice colours of the sea. You used a tripod for your window video shoot? What I like about that turn South is that you get a glimpse of the fishing village next to the ship maintenance dock, something we islanders are sometimes oblivious to. Other aircraft spotted while waiting for the Fokker. UPS B767-34F(ER) (N344UP) Firefly ATR72-500 (9M-FYC) Fokker came after Firefly Malindo Air ATR72-600 (9M-LMG) Lion Air B737-8GP (PK-LPO) China Cargo Airlines B747-409F (B-18717) Private Cessna 525C Citation CJ4 (N194SS) Went over to the terminal to try to get the Fokker, but there was a bigger plane in the way. T Azahan 1 Report post Posted February 6, 2016 2 days ago.... Descending into PEN. Weather had been so cloudy all the way. I like the open concept of the airport. ATRs are very active here. SS bro, Video was handheld. Had to be rock steady. Quite bumpy during take off roll. Hehe. Beautiful sight it was.

SS Lee 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2016 Thanks Azahan. Had a chance to go spotting today. Looks like some repairs are being done to the Taxiway Alpha. All narrowbodies had to land on 04, and backtrack along the main runway before turning to the Apron. Widebodies would have to come in on 22 so that they can turn in directly either to the cargo terminal or passenger terminal. Quite a good thing. Those wanting to have some "heavies" action, now would be the time. Will pose those shots in a few days. Here is the continuation to the evening spotting session. SS Lee 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2016 16 April 2016 Saw recently that FedEx's MD-11 and other widebodies landed from the North via Runway 22. This prompted me to go and catch some action. Rarely do we get such traffic landing from 22. Firstly, here is more or less what the view was the entire trip. Airbus Standoff Dragonair A330-343 (B-LBD) Thai Airways International A320-232 (HS-TXB) Large aircraft had to use Runway 22. So you get to see the touchdown right in front of you. LaurieB 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2016 (edited) SSLee, good selection of photos there. I have not been to the airport very much at all lately. However, spotted an unusual A340 on FR24 approaching Penang this lunchtime so I went and had a look. Brunei A342, V8-001, parked in front of the tower.
