Muhammad Firdaus 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2016 From HX's website: You will notice that Kuching is marked with a purple line (Operated by codeshare partners). I think we will not be seeing HX's aircraft but Hong Kong Express (UO) equipment but marketed as a HX flight. After all, its an all economy A320 which means its a LCC type equipment. Oh well....better than nothing I suppose. Yup, absolutely, as long as not with our local airlines. Anyway UO looks really nice https://thedesignair.files.wordpress.com/2014/01/lift-hke-left.jpg
Christopher Lo JK 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2016 Supposedly, there were no more arrivals of a D7 A333 since yesterday was the last day that they sent an A333 here. Yet, they still send. Yay If not mistaken, they will send their A333 until the end of this year or, until they have the sufficient amount of A320 pilots. 1st may 2016 Gio was flying on WSK. 9M-XXV(Global Xpansion) N999FJ(Used to have Malaysia Regs) 9M-SSC
szesyn 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2016 Checked HX's website today and found that the route map has changed the route colour to KCH to blue, meaning that the aircraft operating is a HX equipment. Sorry, only people like us would be interested in matters like this.
Prestley Shim 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2016 First visit of XXT to Kuching and first in my database. And as usual, the ever accursed Kuching weather decided to give us very somber and dismal lighting. And throw in some rain too. Yeah, I know how it felt shooting in the rain especially if you didn't bring the rain cover. You tend to worry too much about your camera and lens getting wet. That was how I caught M30-09. Nice shot of XXT though.
Prestley Shim 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2016 A nice surprise when MAB sent their A330 in from Lumpur yesterday. 9M-MTD operating MH2528. And landing just less than five minutes behind MTD was 9M-XXS "Xhaolin Spirit" operating AK8670 also from Lumpur.
GeO 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2016 18 May 2016 Spotting trip during lunchtime with fellow Kuching spotter Mr Walter. 9M-XXS arriving Kuching International Airport. Hornbill Skyways Challenger 605 bearing regn 9M-ATM dont want to be left out. Bell 206B3 Jet Ranger 9M-SGH MASwings ATR72-500 9M-MWH on final runway 25. 9M-XXS departure to KUL in the afternoon kinda on time for today Then back home for rest. Actually i thought of not going for spotting session in the evening. But then another fellow spotter alerted the group of MAB sending their A330-300 (9M-MTD) to Kch as MH2528. I quickly pack my camera and out I go for spotting. Malaysia Airlines Berhad Airbus A330-323 as MH2528. I've flown as passenger on MH2528 on one of my trip back from KUL but not lucky enough to get A330. Instead I got 9M-FFF. About 10 minutes later, AirAsiaX Airbus A330-343 arrive as AK8670. It's been a while since I last spot MH B738 in old livery(non-BSI interior). So here's 9M-MLF as MH2803 from Miri. AirAsia Airbus A320-216(SL). sisters arrive few minutes apart AQV and AQU. The two heavies at the terminal. MTD taxing out while XXS ready for pushback. Hope to see you again 9M-MTD. The cabin lights visible

Christopher Lo JK 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2016 Hi Christopher, do you mind sharing with the secret to your crystal clear and razor sharp images, perhaps some exif data especially for those images with heavy overcast. And where did you shoot MSG from, top of a bus? Great photos, thanks for sharing. Nah, it is not really a secret. Sharing is caring. You have to go spotting when the weather is very very nice(especially clear blue skies) and there's strong lighting, so it is not preferable when there's no lighting or cloudy. Strong lighting helps to make your pictures look sharp and bright even you haven't edited any of them.Try to play with the aperture F8.0-9.0 while keeping the ISO at 100 and the shutter speed is around 1/800 depending the strength of the lighting. Sometimes, I may go lower until F7.1 when the lighting is not desirable. In editing, you have to play with the level, curve(brightness) and hue(add if necessary, but don't be too much). You use the magic wand tool(more convenient when there are no clouds in the background) or the quick selection tool to lasso all the aircraft parts. Then, apply the smart sharpen on it. The setting I usually use-amount 100-200% with radius 1.0 pixels. The sharpen setting literally depends on the camera you use. The last step of editing is to resize the picture. That location I went yesterday is in front of a Chinese restaurant called, Overseas Seafood Restaurant. But you need to have a long lens for that. My lens is able to zoom until 250mm only. And, thanks.
