If what I heard is true, LRD is being used to train crew for all of Lion Group. That is why it is still on the ground.

Earlier this afternoon -LNC positioned SZB-KUL using the unusual flight number of OD9001.

Curious to know why it's been at SZB for an extended period presumably undergoing some kind of maintenance.

Could it of possibly been at Airod having the seats changed? I think Airod used to fit the seats into their earlier deliveries which were delivered with only J class seats installed.

The flight number used is interesting as Malindo uses OD5001/5002 flight numbers for maintenance ferry flights to/from Batam Aero Technic, Indonesia.

Malindo may also have a shortage of pilots.

You may be right.

Endorsement flights are done in the simulator

Not for those without 500 hours multi jet aircraft bro

In this case of malindo they don't take fresh guys for 737. Hence no 737 endorsement flights

You're right. They stopped fresh CPL holder from joining direct on the 737 since last quarter of 2016. Last time i think i saw those 9xxx callsign being used on 737 endorsement flight

I suppose those Chinese charters from BKI should be for one or two of the local tour agents ?

Wonder if they are nowadays allowed to fly Chinese-origin pax into Malaysia already

Someone may possibly be right about IFE installation on LNC. The NO IFE remarks have been removed from dispatch documents for this aircraft. Now we just need a confirmation from anyone who gets onboard the aircraft.

Can you check -LND too as it's recently been operating longer flights to mostly TRZ and TRV, compared to the others it doesn't do a great deal of domestic flying compared to the other non IFE birds -LCK, L, M and P.

Just checked and for the second time this week it's operating to BNE via DPS.

LND is definitely still without IFE installed. The probable reason why its been spotted doing TRV and TRZ lately is that unlike LNC, LND is an EDTO certified and equipped aircraft. Won't be surprised to see it going in for IFE installation in near future too (assuming LNC had its IFE installation done during the last ground time in SZB)

Interesting...LCM which I flew KL-PEN last month is another which is equipped with the overhead liferafts so theoretically another ETDO aircraft but unsure if it's currently certified, but it's solely operating regional flights. Whereas LCK isn't equipped with them.

LNT visited Perth last night on the overnight OD155/156, just for some variety. Nice to see something else here apart from LNV and LNY. LNW used to be a regular but since it's recent maintenance visit seems to be shying away from Perth.

LCM took me to SG tonight and still doesn't have IFE. A very rushed take off from KUL due to a large storm approaching from the east or north east.

Malindo have been awarded rights to operate KUL-MEL x4 weekly for a October start, will they get their A330's in time? I heard its a afternoon departure from KUL arriving in MEL at around 22:00 then the return departing MEL early the next morning.

Currently sitting at Changi waiting for OD806 to take me back to KL. Could see that the inbound flight hadn't taken off and left as late as possible. Tripcase stated that it was onetime and the Changi app app changed to delayed just after 8:30. The counter staff kept saying computer says its onetime because KL hasn't told them otherwise and they didn't have an an answer for how it could be on time of the flight hadn't taken off from KL.

AT 8:40 PM (50 mins before scheduled departure the flight was retimed buy an hour. Looking at FR24 its looks like many OD flights were delayed for 1-2+ hours. Was this due to weather?

The best bit is that LRC is coming to collect me so I was downgraded from J. This flight is usually full in J so I can imagine that like me the regulars will be very unhappy.

Managed to get the staff at Changi to admit that the KL flight ops team are not proactive or helpful etc.

Starting to book flights in MI/SQ again and may use the KUL VIP option to clear immigration quickly because OD are too unreliable.

OD's on time performance has always been dismal, rain or shine.

They have been ok for the past 5 or 6 sectors that I've flown in the past 3 weeks.

Was chatting with the crew and they are not happy that OD keeps using the MAX and downgrading premium passengers without any warning etc because its generating a lot of complaints.

I have to agree, OD is bad at keeping to their departure times.

Our departure from KLIA was "re-timed" or delayed by 1 hour, pilot said due to waiting for passengers from another flight.

Today our departure from DPS is "re-timed" to depart 5 hours later @1.50am.
